Good day. I just updated my PS CC. I brought in an image from LR and nothing is working in PS. Shortcuts do not work...all menus are grayed out! Anyone experiencing this? I am on pc and yes, I did shut down and then rebooted. This is the very first time that PS has been none responsive and I have used it for at least 10 years! I would appreciate any suggestions. Thank you.

Try giving the photo itself a click to select it before attempting editing, occasionally I have greyed out sections because the image although on the workspace has not been selected, just click it.
This is probably NOT going to work if you rebooted and it still doesn't work, but it only takes a second so you might want to try it. If you have a selection, only tools that work on selections will work. So start by deselecting everything. With the image open, hold Command and hit D to deselect any selections.
Next, try resetting the application preferences and then resetting all tools. Here's instructions I copied from a web page:
Try resetting your Photoshop Preferences. Exit Photoshop. Click the icon to start Photoshop and Immediately if not sooner press and hold Shift+Ctrl|CMD+Alt|Option Photoshop should prompt do you want to delete your Preferences. Reply Yes.
In Photoshop use the tools preset pull-down in the tool option bat. the left click the setting gear and reset all tools.

Hope one of these works. I suspect the second will solve your problem.

I saw a similar issue in an thread earlier today. The OP called PS Help Desk and it appears they may be a bug with the new version if you choose to edit a photo in PS through LR. PS must now already be open when you choose the PS edit option in LR. If it is not already open there are problems with the menus being grayed out. I recently upgraded and didn't have this problem.

Interesting - I upgraded Lightroom and Photoshop recently and have not seen that problem, but it sounds like the launch bug that they had a version or two back where PS would refuse to launch if it had not already been open from Lightroom. A patch corrected it soon after it was found.

Yes. I had the same experience. It's apparently a bug in the latest upgrade. I posted about it earlier today - here is a link:

I updated PS, bridge and ACR. But everytime I tried to open an image it would open in PS 2018 instead of 2019.
When I went to the app on my PC, I realized I had PS 2018 pinned to task bar. Once I changed it to PS 2019 pinned to task bar, all was working well.

I had the same thing. All I had to do was close the program and re-open it from the update menu. Worked just fine.
As Dngallagher indicated, there is a new update for PS CC 2019. I'm updating now. Give that a try. It may resolve the issue.

Sometimes Photoshop will not cooperate well.
This may sound silly...
I know that my computer is not the newest nor the fastest.
But it works for me...
When I empty my recycle bin things seem to strengthen out.
I hope this may help someone...
Kick it a few times. I can't even download the new version at all.

Have the same problem. I also downloaded and installed the update for PS today. Problem still exists. If they told us it was a set of bugfixes they missed one.
According to what I have read both from users and PS staff, The best way to get around this problem is to start PS first, then rightclick your image in LR and choose Edit In Photoshop. PS then works as it should. Hope this helps.
A second new update for PS was just released
