I don't have the camera but I am wondering if it would be a good idea to reset all settings to factory defaults and go from there?

I had a 100mm-400mm fixed at my local camera store. I dropped it on a RRS Footplate which took the blunt of the fall. The aluminum attachment was bent and fell off when removing the RRS Footplate. I found a precision screw driver to attach the aluminum bent plate with the eye glass screw. I didn’t want to take to my original camera store because it was bought online. This camera wanted $400.00 to repair and gave me such a hard time. The lens was 1 month old and they didn’t want to go thru warranty. Aggravated on how I was been treated with printing invoice I said just give me the lens back. Immediately, I drove back to my camera store and they gave me an estimate of $450. I asked/pleated with can’t you go under warranty. This camera sent it back to the original manufacture and completed under warranty for $22.00 and some change >$23.
I didn’t lie about dropping the lens in its own case!

Try Video One Repair, look them up and their reviews, call them and ask them if they can help, especially if you have a warranty. I sent in my Sony a-99 came back as great as before. Good luck.

The camera is still under warranty (till the end of Nov.) I have a problem with the flash not flashing when requested. Rarely use a flash so I didn't notice until this fall that it wasn't working properly. So, my question is , where should I send it? On reading some of the HOGG comments, it seems Sony does not have a great repair rep. Do any of the major stores (B&H, Adorama, Keh, do these type of repairs under warranty?
The camera was not dropped or damaged; the flash just quit. It did work3-4 times and then just died.
Any help would be greatly appreciated; I have never had a problem like this so I'm not quite sure where to go.

I'm not sure how Sony repair has gotten such a bad reputation, I had a problem of my own making several years ago with my Sony A77. In addition to the problem being caused by my negligence, the camera is grey-market. I told Sony repair all of this up front, and got a verbal estimate on the phone. I sent the camera in and a few days after they received it I received notification that the repair was complete and that it would be shipped out the next day! I inquired about the cost, and was told that there was No Charge! I then inquired about what had been done, and was told that they had fixed the problem that I had created and had done a general check to make sure that everything was properly functioning! This was done at the Sony repair facility in Texas. Needless to say, I have nothing bad to say about Sony repair!

I have a camera (Panasonic FZ 200) that will not flash if in multiframe mode. That is it will only flash in single shot mode. My Canon P&S will flash till the capacitor is out then keeps on shooting. Not sure about RX 10. But try it on single shot mode.

I have all Sony now. Had NEX's, a6000, a6300, a7s, a7s II, RX10 III, RX100 3 of them. 4 camcorders have PXW-70 pro camcorder use often.
Never had a repair. I think Sony is getting a bad rap. I love the Nikon's I had like Canons but Sony got me into more video with mirrorless format.
Good luck.
