I like the dark one, seems to really set the mood, at least for me

Too dark, otherwise an excellent picture. I would print and frame it.
I don't think so. It has a nice mood.

I think 1st version "sets a mood", an evening feeling, 2nd has an earlier in the day feel.

I prefer the lightened version.
Same. I might bump up the vibrance a bit.

For what? Seriously, that photo could go many ways. You should decide what feeling/idea you like in it, and then bring that out using contrasts, saturations, and sharpness.
It may be a little dark but I like!

I think it needs some selective work on the highlights in the trees and the shadows of the cabin. I must have 100+ shots of that cabin. I don't think the lighting has ever been what I would like ...and, of course, getting a shot without people is a challenge as well. Nice job.
I really like the dark one. I can feel the cool dampness of fall and winter coming!

Nice capture and spot on framing; no, it gives a great sense of mood and place.
I would lighten it just a bit, as it is the wonderful colors just don't seem to pop. It is an excellent shot just need a little tweak in PP.
I personally like the first one, the lighting appears to be early in the morning or late afternoon. Natural looking.
