Good point. I realized that’s what was bothering me about color version.

Went back and removed the red plastic on the original...should have done it in my initial post here.

To me the color image appears sharper and in better contrast. It should not be a big problem to remove the distracting object in PP. Or change it's color to blend better.

Yes, went back and removed it ...see the last version of the B&W imagine in this post.

A great capture - definitely like the B&W -First off I like anything that is from the period of time long gone by to be in B&W - second is that one item leaning onto the building seems to be some kind of red plastic and quite distracting in color - just plain ruins the "age" of the subject - love the B&W .
Harvey in the Sierras.

Thanks Harvey, appreciate your posts and the red plastic piece has been removed. Good point about old subjects and B&W make a better match.

B&W treatment for me but needs a little something. Some more contrast and some darker blacks.

Thanks Don, I did more processing along the lines you suggested and reposted...see page 2.

I like the color version. This is merely a subjective call and not founded on anything other than I just like this capture.

Thanks Ronee...and your reason is as good as any!!

I've gotten some responses on my images of old structures to try them in B&W. Really enjoy B&W photos but I'm lousy at processing them so have always hesitated to try my hand at them. Anyhow, here are a couple more shots of the log cabin I posted a couple of days ago. The color image just grabs me, not so the B&W...what do you think, does it need more processing? BTW, I started with an orange filter on the B&W image to keep the image as bright as I liked.

Your fine photos are too flat. Add a little snap to them! All I did was add more contrast and ajusted exposure. HOW'S THAT! AP

Hard to pick jederick they both have excellent qualities. Leaning towards the color one.

They look fine AP except they are not the fall scene I photographed...too much processing has removed the reality of the scene. Appreciate your efforts and thanks for stopping by and commenting!!

B & W...I am a semi-retired small band leader (over 50 years active). Being the "leader" also meant buy the bus, buy the sound equipment, service the bus, service the other equipment and be a "father figure" to a few sometimes up to 10 members. All that said, I had to create ALL the promo. Well, it just so happens I took a band shot for posters at similar old structure here in Kansas (rural pop. 11,000) with our limo parked in front. The name of the band was Hard Times. All the players were in bib overalls, ragged T-shirts, etc. I shot it with my 4 x 5 Graphic in B & W. Your shot brought up a happy time in my career. Thanks!
