Thanks for reaching out to me.
I do not have anything to compare my D200 pictures too except a Point'n shoot old Nikon L310. I used it because it has the video option and a zoom that does not work hardly at all. But still, I used it at the air shows, last week-end recently. I am reviewing the pictures, hundred of them from last week-ends air show, and also writing a narrative for my very first post on this site. I was so honored Sunday to have the privilege to take a ride and actually fly a 1943 PT-19 open cockpit WWII trainer. OMG OMG OMG what a gift. I told the owner I restored a 1942 Areonca L3-B Defender and also being a pilot too, he let me fly the plane. I want to share this experience with the group and working on the words to post and a few pictures of the event.
D200 being 12 years old now, I am pleased so far with how it performs. I got it because the old Nikon film N80 which I have two lenses which plug right onto the D200.
Nikkor 28-80 and a 70-300. Some may laugh but that is what I have and they work.
I am curious how your shots differ from you are comparing them too.
If you would like to see some of the shots I have taken with please let me know. I greatly appreciate a learning opportunity from greater experiences than mine.
Thank you for the contact to me.
Bruce.

Hi Zeitguy,

I have read all responses, and feel that your reply back to Zeitguy was totally uncalled for. If you didn't find it useful...just move on.

(I just can't wait to read your condescending remark back to me! <big grin>)

I owed riderxlx an apology and provided it. If you and I ever get to know each other you will find out I am quite mild-mannered but capable of asshole moments, which I will own as soon as I realize what happened. That's all I got.

Good luck on finding a functional battery. My final solution was to go to Batteries Plus where they rebuild the batteries.

If that's not helpful, then you truly are the asshole you appear to be on helpful hints.

Thanks for the tip. I found an en4 substitute and car charger for a very reasonable price -- this is a new area for me and I hope the sub allows me to use the Dx1. If that doesn't work I will take your advice.

I should find a better forum to carry on my D200/CCD adventure, I will let you know when I find one or start one.

If you are into action photography the ISO limits on the D200 are an issue. I use it for landscape and nature mostly. As I become more familiar with this place and my tail-feathers grow back I will create some albums that attempt to demonstrate what differences between the CCD and CMOS sensors have caught my attention.

Thanks again

My dear brother;
This is what got too.
I was just starting to leave to visit my parents house when your email came in. I was just checking the weather map one last time before heading out. It is my mothers birthday, she is 88 today and my father is 92 so I am going to see them. But.
I had to stop and write you back.
Bother, if anyone could write a book on being an asshole that would be ME. I sure have my times and MANY of them too, indeed. However your reply to demonstrated that is not who you really are.
You are man of honest character and integrity.
We just work in a digital world where face to face interactions is not possible but still here we are.
To meet you in person would honestly be an honor and privilege. You are always welcome to contact me privately or openly on this site.
I must say may God bless you, your heart spoke to me honestly in an open forum and that takes courage.
That's what I got brother.
peace
bruce, gotta run.
