Don't know about England, but years ago I had a friend buy a Nikon for me in Japan. It was held for duty in Chicago, 200 miles from my home. Luckily, my brother worked in Chicago and he went down and bailed it out for me, then sent it on. Authorities had filled the word "Nikon" with lead.

About 1989 our sister-in-law in Germany sent us a few blankets. One was made of synthetic “fur”. She wrote Fur. So US Customs held the box for over eight months in the local impound facility. After calling and calling I was then accused of illegally importing fur. I had to demand they actually open the box and touch the fur. Got the two days later. Opened but otherwise unhurt.

Hello
What is considered gray market in the U.K. In the states any Nikon not sold by an authorized USA dealer is gray market
Buy a Nikon in Canada gray market. Buy a Nikon in Germany gray market. Buy a Nikon in the U.K. gray market. Are the Nikons in Canada, Germany and the U.K. inferior? That’s what Nikon USA wants us to believe.

I believe it has more to do with varying warranty laws.

That is untrue. Grey market is when a dealer obtains the camera via other Channels other than Nikon USA and then sells it here. In other words they buy a pallet of cameras from the China market and sell them here. You can buy a camera in the EU x
While on vacation and bring it back and Nikon will still honor the warranty in the USA as long as you have the receipt and it was bought from a Nikon authorized dealer.

Call them or email them. That’s what I did to verify if I bought a camera outside the states if it would still be covered. No issue as long as receipt is from a authorized dealer.

And many of them on eBay come with batteries and chargers .. at least that’s been my experience.

And he was looking for a body only.

Yes, I'm looking for a new USA D7200 body only. If you read what comes in the box of a new one on the B&H Photo website you will see this:

In the Box

MH-25A Battery Charger for EN-EL15 Li-Ion Battery
UC-E17 USB Cable
AN-DC1 Camera Strap for Various Nikon DSLRs
DK-5 Eyepiece Shield (Replacement)
DK-23 Rubber Eyecup for Select Nikon DSLR Cameras
BF-1B Body Cap
Limited 1-Year Warranty

Need I say more?

That’s an amazing price. Doesn’t Nikon control prices for Nikon USA sellers? That’s almost $200 less than the going rate. Great job securing that price especially from Best Buy.

Nikon was selling it at the same price...dealers generally reflect the prices you can buy on Nikon's site....I buy from best buy because there are no B&M stores near me...I like to touch and play with the camera...also like to be able to return to the store...

when i was buying my camera refurbs from Nikon were more expensive that the brand new one...

Great deal. Our Local Best Buy is the worst one God has ever created. Lucky to see 2 DSLRs on display.

Thanks for the invite. But if we buy a camera from the States, it would be a grey import for us...ha ha
