On occasion I will break out my 6.3 MP Canon Digital Rebel (300D) from 2003. My favorite FF continues to be the 12.8 MP Canon 5D that I purchased used years ago. Love it for weddings and portraits. New models do not take better images, but they do make it a lot easier. lol

I'm still playing with my Nikon D5000. It has some features that are unique to it's design and I enjoy using those.
I just bought a dealer demo on line — Nikon D3400. It's got twice the pixel count than my D5000 and I want to see if there's any real difference.
The D3400 had 641 clicks that I verified, compared to the 64,000+ on my D5000 that I've had a good 8 years or so.
I paid about $270 for the D3400 from a dealer, which is the lowest price I've seen anywhere on line (through Amazon).
In looking through the D3400 manual, I noticed a whole bunch of photo tricks you can perform in camera that would normally have to be accomplished in post. I'd like to try some of those, too.
I have a studio photo shoot with a model tomorrow and I'll post a couple of images with the same lens/different body for comparison and if you'll please let me know what you all think, I'd appreciate the feedback.
Also, please let me know if any of you own a D3400 and what your experience has been.
Thanks.

How about an Olympus D-500L. Purchased in 1999, and it still works, although the shutter button has been replaced with a paper clip and pieces of tape. It has a whopping 850K pixels. My DSLR is a D90 and my newer ML is a Samsung NX500-it's quick and has great IQ, and can shoot at 30 frames/sec for a few seconds.

I always seem to be a generation or two behind as my kids were too dumb to get full rides to college, and too smart not to go.
My newest camera is the EM-1 1.0, and I still use Nikons D300s and DX2.
I’ve got no complaints.
Anyone else out there using older kit? Not film, doesn’t count.

From all these comments I have to conclude that as ‘hoggers go, we all just love our old gear - digital or film doesn’t matter. That’s probably because we are old too! 😁

Got my lightly used Nikon D90 at Christmas, 2010 and I love it! Two years ago, got a IR converted Nikon D200 and that is also fun to use! My only other cameras are film (Nikon 8008 and Minolta SRT 101).

An IR older camera conversion is an excellent idea...!

I still have my two Rolleiflexes: 6008 and TLR. And a stack of 35mm film cameras.

If it ain't broke, don' replace it? If I adhered to that I'd still be shooting film even though my digital cameras (even the older ones) far surpass the best of my 35mm film cameras.

All film cameras are old you know, even new ones

You, yourself, are a 4-million-year-old design.
You are posting in a 1,400-year-old language, English,
You live in 242-year-old country.
And you are reading this via the 36+ year-old Internet and the 28-year-old World Wide Web.

Time to upgrade!

I keep an E-500 with a 12-60 SWD in my truck at all times. Isn't that 150mmf2 a gem?

the Olympus E500 is the last DSLR from Olympus with the Kodak sensor noted for it's excellent color renditions. I still have an Olympus E1 Pro which had the Kodak 5.1 Mp sensor and some of the most wonderful colors of the period (2003). My current E1 purchased recently has UNDER 2000 shutter clicks on a Pro shutter rated to 100K.

Your E-500 is a great camera. Hang On To It.

I need to bust out the E500 and attach the 150f2 to it to see how the colors look with that lens.

I often use my Olympus E1 Professional 5.1 MP with the Kodak Sensor. Few camera's I have owned since have the color rendering of that sensor. My current E1 has under 2k shutter count and works flawlessly.

Your E-500 was the last of the Kodak sensor Oly DSLR bodies. There was an E400 which was not shipped to the US, usually found in the UK. It had a 10 Mp Kodak sensor and was the smallest of the OLY DSLR bodies (entry level) I used on of those for car shows. The colors were magnificent.

Still have, and occasionally shoot with my D200. She still performs well.

Still occasionally using my D50 circa 2005 with its 6.1mp and 2gb max sd cards. Reviewers at the time complained because it used sd cards instead of cf cards.
