I own and use 3 "older" Canon 1D bodies.
The original 1Ds, a IDs Mark III and a 1D Mark III.
When new these 3 cameras were about $20,000.
I paid 1,350 for the 3 of them.
They are still pro caliber cameras.
I have owed a used 10D, 50D and a 5D.
I like the weight and feel of a 1D body.
The others felt like toys.
I am 65 and can still hold those cameras with a 2.8 70-200 mm L.
If anyone of the III's break I would replace it with the same model

I need to bust out the E500 and attach the 150f2 to it to see how the colors look with that lens.

I keep an E-500 with a 12-60 SWD in my truck at all times. Isn't that 150mmf2 a gem?

One of my cameras is an Olympus E30. It is broken but I intend to have it repaired because I have an Olympus 50-200mm SWD lens which I do not want to give up. Davidb1879.

That is an excellent camera (fits into this thread) and still highly rated, enjoy using it!

I use an old Canon EOS t1. Mostly use it on manual with a Vivitar 285HV
when I need a flash. I quit the “pro” end of photography. I have a pile of cheap point and shoot cameras of all brand names. But still use film Mamiya
645, Pentax and Olympus too.

I always seem to be a generation or two behind as my kids were too dumb to get full rides to college, and too smart not to go.
My newest camera is the EM-1 1.0, and I still use Nikons D300s and DX2.
I’ve got no complaints.
Anyone else out there using older kit? Not film, doesn’t count.

I'm still using my D200 along side with my Df.

I only have my Pentax K-50 because the K-x died. Rest of old ones are film.

I’ve had my D300 since day one. Used it up to a couple months ago. Just went D850. Huge difference.

Lots of My PP time has been correcting some of the weaknesses of the D300.

The first pic from the D850, I was shocked - the time I spent cleaning up the D300 pics - gone. Now I can just process and edit the pic without all the corrections.

So, while I am happy w the D300, know it frontwards and backwards but is now a backup.

School is expensive. I spent a few years in the military so school was free, BS and MS paid for in full. My lucky parents...

My new camera a ten year old Canon. I may upgrade because of poor performance at higher ISOs, but I'll likely think a while longer.

My old camera, a 5MP Sony, is eighteen years old. My wife now uses it when we go out picture hunting. I offered to get her a new A6000, but she likes what she has. In truth, it still takes great photos.

Just picked up a very nice Rebel digital 300D 6.3 Mp camera with charger, 2 batteries and 2 Gb CF Memory Card. looks near new, 18-55mm lens, and takes very good pics. Has both lens caps, and body cap.

This was the first Digital Rebel.... 300D. Simple camera and this one still works well for easy use. Good first SLR for a new person to digital.

I am going to list this for sale, after shooing a few shots.

I have 2 old Nikon D200s and 3 Nikon film camera's and old lenses (manual) . I paid $2300 for the first one back in w 2005 and then $125 for the second one in 2016. So no you dont have to go new today to get great pictures. I did buy a new D500 2 years ago because I wanted to have a fast focus system camera that was up to date with technology. And yes I'm a tech nerd and Nikon fanboy.

Just me, but I tend too buy and use till it fails. (If it works why fix/replace it)I am not Rich and can not afford to buy new every time a new one comes out (I wish I could)......I get GAS but tend to expell it and hold off.

And don't knock film....... I still have a few old ones.....I used to shoot, develop, and enlarge own and loved it. Ok still look for old ones to buy and put on the shelf.....

I still use my Nikon d3100 every day. I keep it as a second body but it gets the most use.
