Laundering your spare battery is not recommended.

I've found unusual things in the washing machine and dryer. No problems yet.

Did that once with an I phone. Bye bye.. Another revelation, Photoshop will not remove spots that are on the monitor screen

I never tried to wash my batteries. I have washed CF cards a few times and they come out all clean and smelling great. And, THEY STILL WORK! I am glad, too, because they are rather expensive 64GB San Disk Extreme Pro's. I don't plan on doing this regularly, though. The joys of being 70+. Isn't being old wonderful?

Also not recommended: washing shirts with a ballpoint pen still in the pocket

Or, worse, a fountain pen (in case anybody still uses one of these).

I did and it spoiled the cloth but the pen is fine.

I like the loose artistry of a laundered gel pen on a $125 shirt.

For me, cartridges were not an improvement; they leaked even before they got put in the washing machine. ;-)

Yes, I am, but I prefer the old-fashioned way.
