The use of this tele lense will cause you some light loss. The camera is at f/6.3 at the long end, so I think you may not be able to autofocus. I had a similar one to this on my DCS-F717 (VLVDH1758). The HG was the upgrade. They are cheaper now, one on ebay for about $50. May be worth the effort to try it out, selll it back on ebay if it does not work for you. Based on my Sony HX90, I do not see how this will help the quality of a zoomed shot better than your camera alone.

Just for fun --- How about you asking for directions in a strange city____would you agree to pay cash ($5) for the right answer?
Just for fun let's pretend you haven't changed the subject from a "for profit" corporation that must pay someone to research an obscure request to provide a technical answer to the absurd of asking a local for information he can provide without breaking stride my thought would be "no" unless he has to go to his house or vehicle for a map, then do research on his phone, then stop by a library to make me a photo copy, answer would be "sure". I give out $5.00 bills often and tell people to have a milkshake on me when they have been exceptionally helpful.

You are defining customer service much to narrowly.
Or, are you defining it too broadly, expecting everything for free?

You forgot. I’m a customer. Nothing is free. I’m paying for a product and the support that goes along with it.

I think we have come to that "impasse" intersection so having worked 30+ years in sales & marketing I will leave you with this. Every product is a factor of Price, Quality and Service. You can select any TWO. Again, support (service) is on the product purchased, not any question the buyer can come up with on any related or non-related item.
I do find it interesting we are debating this topic but the OP has not weighed in on my original question.
