Had a Rare opportunity to get many photographs of a double rainbow over the Golden Arches of the local McDonalds early yesterday morning which I always go to for coffee.. Is there a market for these photos and how much?
Try a used bit dealer. I hear they are paying 10 cents a Megabyte.
But seriously: save it for your portfolio. Or you could send it to the Weather Channel:
you won't get paid, but they might use it and credit you--which is good for your
portfolio.
But if you are determined to make money off this, and:
* Your camera has a full frame sensor,
* The shot is really sharp and well-composed, and
* You are able to make a poster-sized, gallery-quality framed print;
then, it's a long-shot, but...
Most McDonalds have a sign that identifies the owner: sometimes it's something like
"XYZ Partners", but occasionally it's a person's name. If the owner is an individual or
in it with his family, then he might be interested in a framed copy for his home. (I suspect
that the franchisor has rules about what can be put up on the restaurant walls.)
There are a lot of reasons why such a deal will be difficult to do:
* Quality printing and framing are not easy or cheap;
* If you're not in the business of making framed prints, it's very hard to know in advance
what your final cost will be;
* Unless you are an established photographer, he's not going to front the money;
* If he backs out of the deal, you're stuck, and your option is to take him to small claims court--
which will make for you one very rich enemy.
Not every rainbow leads to a pot of gold.
