i'm looking to buy a wide angle lens without breaking the bank. been looking at the tamron 10-24, and the sigma 10-20...the sigma is a couple hundred bucks more... wondering if anybody has used these and could give me some feedback on them... i have a d7000 and will be using this lens mainly for landscapes... thanks in advance for your input....

I have the Sigma 10-20 and love it. After the answer from PhotoArtsLA to my question, this is the lens I will use Saturday night/Sunday morning to shoot the Perseids Meteor Shower. It is a great lens, you will not be disappointed.

I may have been unlucky, but I was disappointed with the Sigma and returned it to the retailer.

I have a Tokina 11-16mm. It has gotten good ratings, and I like the results. They have their nerve calling it a zoom, though. It "zooms" 5mm! :D

I just purchased the Tamron 10-24 and still haven't really had and opportunity to see just what it will do. I did play with it when I first got it and I seem to be getting "noise" which is not making me very happy and I may return it and wait until I have the extra $ to purchase the Tokina lens.

I talked to someone at B&H where I ordered this lens from and they said they preferred the Sigma, but because of the rebate on the Tamron, they felt that was the better deal.

I still have a few weeks to return lens, so hopefully all this rain we are getting will subside and I will be able to get out and give it a little workout.

I've used both and the Sigma is superior in color, less distortion at 10mm, and is very sharp. Its a little more $ but your landscape images will be fantastic.
But, there are some bad copies out there so be prepared to return it if you get unlucky and get a copy below par.

Should I take a guess at what letter you left out of "shtts"? I see two possibilities. :D

I have bought a used "like new condition" lens from Amazon, and had no problem what-so-ever. Technically you are not buying from "Amazon" but from one of their recommended retailers/suppliers, but Amazon stands behind every purchase you make.
