I bought my A7 and then a Sony/Olympus adapter to use all my Zuiko glass (8 lenses). Flawless in manual. I have recently purchased the new Tamron 28-75 made for Sony. It's the F/2.8 Di III RXD (not the previous one). This one is not variable-it holds the stop during zooming. Love it. If I want wider view, I just put on my old Olympus 24.

Looking into an a7R iii camera but leery about limited lens availability... advice anyone???

Limited availability?? Certainly not! I have the a7 iii and love it. I have the amazing Sony 24-105 f/4 G. Also have the Sony 50mm 1.4 which I love as well. Many other great lenses like the 24-70 f/2.8 g master, 85mm f/1.4 g master, 70-200 g master, etc. My next one will be the 12-24mm f/4.

I moved from the Canon 5d iv. Sony has finally done it right.

I kept the Canon 17mm f4 Tilt-Shift lens. I use that with my Sigma MC-11 adapter for architectural work. Cheers

FYI for others.
Fotodiox make a large range of Shift Adapters for Sony e-mount including adapters for SLR/35mm and Medium Format lenses by Nikon, Canon, Leica, Hasselblad, Olympus, Pentax etc.

I have one for Olympus OM to E-mount which works fine, but a nice medium format lens would be even nicer.

Recent Canon and Sigma Canon mount lenses seem to do quite well with Sigma's MC11 adapter ......

I recently sold my Zeiss 16-35 f2.8 (A mount) and retired my workhorse 28-135 Minolta lens (also an A mount). They were replaced by the full frame E mount Sony 12-24 and 24-105 f4 G Master lenses. Excellent lenses! The Sony 100-400 is on my list and is another world class lens.

Just a note: I erred when typing the above. The 12-24 and 24-105 are G lenses, not G Master. Only the 100-400 above is a G Master lens. The two lenses are still great, just not up to G Master quality.

Thank you for responding.... How is your lens for night or low light photography with f4? Ideally I'm looking for a 24-70 "workhorse" lens with 2.8. The Sony GM doesn't have VB with that lens and for 2200 bucks that's hard to believe they don't include that. I realize that the a7r iii has IBIS but for hand held photos I'm feel more confident with lens stabilization also. As for 3rd party lenses such as the Sigma 24-70 Art lens with converter I've seen youtube reviews saying that the AF leaves much to be desired going thru a converter. Would love your feedback.. thanks :)

https://www.sonyrumors.co/sony-will-release-12-more-e-mount-lenses-in-next-two-years/

At Photokina 2018 press event, Sony announced that they will release 12 more native E-mount lenses in next 2 years. The latest Sony E-mount lens is FE 24mm f/1.4 GM Lens (B&H Photo/Amazon/ Adorama/WEX/ParkCamera). And they will also add AI to next Sony cameras, and Eye AF to work on animals.
