I disagree. I wasn't alive back then, but I "remember" Pearl Harbor!
NO! 9/11 will not be forgotten in this century, assuming we haven't blown ourselves up before it ends.
some real "heads up" photography on a fateful day. Great images from a perspective I haven't seen before, thanks for sharing...

Here are my memories of 9/11 from when I photographed a supposed small plane crash into the WTC towers. I went up to the roof of our building 11 stories on 5th Ave /15th St in Manhattan. After seeing the 2nd aeroplane crash, I went to my local film lab for processing. Upon coming back I went up with more film and saw the 2nd tower collapse. Each series has more frames per insident. I'm getting goose bumps as I load these shots and tears are coming.

A friend who worked with me at Morgan had a son who worked in the second tower. As they were leaving the building, he was calling his mother on his cell. Then the phone went dead.
Thanks for sharing the images. I was in in #5 World Trade Center (Mariott Hotel) that morning and will never forget the horrific images of body parts, airplane parts, and thousands of pages of paper that just a few seconds earlier were important raining down.
I escaped that day and ended up walking to Penn Station to get a train out of town. Images of that day only in my mind are the dozens of posters of missing people pasted on walls and fences, teams of doctors and nurses waiting on the sidewalk for victims that never came, and the kindness of total strangers, giving shoes to women who abandoned theirs, drinks of water to those who were thirsty, and the enormous building-eating cloud that came when the South Tower collapsed.
I pray daily for those who died and their families.
You are very correct Ron, since very little "History" is taught anymore.

Remember that anything really survives only as long as there are 'survivors' or 'witnesses' of an event. Our 'memories' as 'human' is rather short. It is both a good and a bad thing.
The land remembers thought.
Great images. Not one of us will ever forget that day.

That's the most asinine statement I've ever read on this site. Have we forgotten what happened at Valley Forge? The Alamo? Gettysburg? The Titanic? The 1929 Stock Market Collapse? Pearl Harbor? The Edmund Pettus Bridge? Hurricane Andrew? Even the first World Trade Center Bombing?
How many hundreds of examples of Not Forgetting have I left out?

Your images are breathtaking......such an incredible reminder of those lost.
My wife and I arrived in NY 10 days after the event. The city was still reeling. I took a number of shots from the top of the Empire State Buildinof the site at night, with the floodlit cranes working away. It was such a sad scene. The site reminded me of some of the worst days of the Blitz on London during the last war.
Great shots of a very sad day for America Peter.

I'm sorry you had to see this, but it's important to share these so no one ever forgets. I certainly won't.
Gut wrenching,incredible photo's.
Great photos but they should make any American cry!
Thanks for sharing your unique images helping us remember 9/11. My son-in-law had a seat on Flight77 out of Dulles to meet my daughter in LA. It took 3 hours for someone to call and let her know, his reservation was changed because of an early morning emergency meeting on the 11th. Bev
