Hmmm, very interesting. I would never have thought of doing that.
I guess you would have to try it yourself to see if it works for you.
I love my gimbal head/monopod combo...for all the reasons he stated.

I have the same tilt head as in the video, but I will try the gimbal. Certain venues do not allow time for tripod set-ups and sometimes they are banned, so I will give it a try. The body-pod that Imagemeister made is another alternative that also quite viable.

Hmmmm. Something to add to my try this list.
saw the video this morning , what a great idea . Will give it a try tomorrow , had a GAS attack and purchased a Libec monopod with feet !!! . Stick the gimbal head on it and the game is easier .
I've been doing this for a while now, when using the 600mm lens and walking around.
If I expect to be fairly static I use the Gitzo Tripod with a Nest Gimbal.
I asked a question about this not so long ago, and most of the responses were that I was crazy. Turns out crazy like a fox! 😜
Great idea!

Isn't part of your job, Ben? Takes 'em quite a while to understand the point sometimes.
