This will be my last post for a while.... it's time to take a break as I feel this site is consuming all my time and life is just flying by....
This is a bitter sweet decision as I've made so many wonderful friends on here and have enjoyed being part of this family, but I know we will still keep in touch and knowing me, I'll probably pop in every now and then!!

I also wanted to give an update on my Monarchs!

To date I have released 24...15 males/9 female, 3 in chrysalis and a few cats still munching away. I'm still finding eggs on the milkweed and have taken in 5 that have just hatched.... This was a really good year for the Monarchs on Long Island and in my garden.

Cell shots of a beautiful female I released....

This will be my last post for a while.... it's ti... (show quote)
Stay well and have fun. I saw a Monarch in my garden yesterday afternoon. Enjoy life.

The word has spread about Angela and her love of Monarchs. When they get to Mexico they will be talking about you. You are very special.

Just have a smile on your face Angela because you know they are making their journey to Mexico because of you. I think on of yours stopped by and stayed for 5 minutes to get food from my flowers as it continued it's journey from Chicago heading to Mexico.

The thought of that does make me smile.... I know they enjoyed their visit with you and your tasty flowers!!
Last night I was chatting with a woman from Chicago... we posted on the same facebook site and she commented about my butterflies. She's been growing milkweed in her garden since 2010 and this year helped raise and release 93!!!!! She also tags the ones that emerge late August/September since those are the ones that migrate to Mexico. Next year I'm ordering the tagging kit!! She also said it was a banner year for the Chicago area she lives in and has seen so many more monarchs this year... so I hope you have plenty of milkweed for next year!!
