Making a point of not inviting Trump shows what a shallow petty man McCain truly was. Libs want him to be a hero, but he isn’t. Just like they want Comey and his cronies to not be the scum bags they are.

McCain's "non-invitation" backfired. Now Trump doesn't have to deal with it, and can concentrate on other more important things. No, McCain is not a hero, his crew called him a "hot dogger" and most wouldn't fly with him because his antics and strong-headedness made him dangerous. He was constantly goofing around and partying, barely passed the Naval Academy and flight school, and used his father's pull to get him out of trouble and transferred when he screwed up badly. He got himself shot down by not beginning evasive maneuvers as a missile tracked his plane and hit him. He was too stupid to follow ejection procedures correctly and got his legs and arm broken. He was a jerk while in the Navy, and a RINO while in the Senate. Nothing will ever make me think this rat was a hero.

I disagree that McCain was not a "heroic one." He was a hero during wartime. But, as a post-war person, and as a politician, he was a "loose cannon" politically and personally.

In the days of sail, naval vessels mounted cannon carefully and purposefully rigged into positions starboard and port which optimised the effect of their fire. Occasionally, the rigging of these very heavy guns might come loose, and with the vessel pitching about on high seas or during manuever in battle, the cannons came loose, pointing in the wrong direction, and the results for the ship and crew could prove catastrophic.
