All true but you'll never get a Democrat to admit they were wrong.

He made his feelings for The President known so why isn't it OK for The President to make his feeling known?

But refusing to be released ahead of others because his dad was an Admiral sounds heroic to me. - Dave

Better choices? Slick hillie says she's going to run again and the bern is a socialist...and the democrat party right now is offering our country absolutely nothing except bellyaching about trump and how they'd like to impeach him! That's why he's going to win another term. I'm fed up with the likes of pelosi, feinstein, chuckie schumer, clinton, etc. Does the party have nothing to offer? Nope, not right now anyway! Trump does respect our military and for that he gets an "attaboy" from me. The last one in there couldn't have had more disdain for our military and never served himself. ( so if trump's a coward then so is barry by default ) Barry couldn't even bring himself to send a representative to Chris Kyle's funeral...what a piece of crap that man was and the liberals loved him.

Political disagreements are one thing, but for the President to disrespect a combat veteran's service is despicable.

Good question...and for all of his faults he is doing a relatively good job for the country and having to fight the liberals and republicans for every inch. I won't dis-respect McCain but I wish he had retired years ago. And for all of the bellyaching that the liberals do about trump being elected what did they give us to vote for? Slick hillie who by now would have put all our national treasure into her personal bank account and then taken a hammer to her computer! What a piece of trash that woman is and she still wants to run...she should be in prison if the Republicans had any nads!

What does any of this have to do with photography? That's why I check this site everyday and post something when I have a comment or question. Although I am a strong advocate of free expression and debate, I hope this great site avoids being drawn into political debates unrelated to photography. As far as I know, no politicians are advocating positions which would inappropriately interfere with our ability to practice photography. Until that happens, I hope this site sticks to discussing issues and opinions about photography.

As far as CPR's statement, this is a little brash, but not incorrect. To survive as a POW doesn't get a medal of honor these days. But it does get McCain a Purple Heart since his legs were broken as a result of the crash. But I do think he deserved some kind of medal for not going home when he could have and instead he said he wouldn't leave his men behind so he stayed at the Hanoi Hilton. That part was fairly heroic - but not worthy of a medal of honor. For McCain to turn on the Senate with thumbs down made him a small man for having his feelings hurt by Trump. That's all I think this was to McCain - personal. He shouldn't let personal feelings get in the way of his duty to his party. He should have retired years ago.

One more thing, I think that all people who serve are heros. But not in the sense that they all deserve a medal of honor. Just in the sense that they gave so much for so little for our country.

I agree with most of what you write but I served and I am no hero. If McCain is any kind of hero it is because of his refusal to go home when it was offered and instead stayed so others who had been there longer than he could go first.

Absolutely right on. I'm an independent and I can't stand the disgusting behavior coming from the left. I have a great distrust of politician's as a whole but the left wing socialist has taken the term "Mortally Corrupt" to a whole new level.

You jump on trump as a draft dodger but what about slick willie who actively avoided the draft. You’re like Fox News make the facts fit your point of view.

There are a number of questions regarding John McCain, especially after he was released from POW captivity.

He opted to leave the Naval service, which was his career decision. Why he was passed over for flag rank will probably be something never known to the public. His reason that politics was more to his liking was his answer, and he stuck with it.

In the late 1980's, he cashed in his accrued capital and good will as a war hero, when he became an unindicted co-conspirator in the "Keating Five" scandal. The Feds didn't have enough information to indict him.

He played both sides of the aisle to his own benefit, not that of the country, when he voted "no" to support a mini-repeal of Obama Care.

He was given the moniker of "Maverick". He was a turncoat to his fellow Republicans. He epitomized RINO.

When he ran for President, he stopped his campaign in September 2008 for the most arcane of reasons.

He was no leader.
