I have used Shutterfly on three separate occasions in the past year and the results have been excellent! I was very concerned about the accuracy of reproducing my images and I am extremely pleased with the outcome - color and exposure are spot on. Their is a learning curve for their interface, but it is not unlike many photo editing or graphics applications. If you have PP applications, process your images first and then upload them. HINT: Don't pay full price for any of their products - they continually send emails with discount offers. (Shhhhhh - don't tell them I told you this!) Have fun - it is really very rewarding to see the finished product.

Ditto. I’ve had great results with Shutterfly.

I use Shutter Fly, but their are many, many, companies out there doing great jobs.
I do all the work on the Shutter Fly site and then wait for one of their dozens of sales to pop up to buy.

Mixbook is a great site I have used quite a bit. Lots of different themes and graphics to pick from. I have also used Blurb a few times, but Mixbook is a little cheaper, and the books are very good quality. Have fun.

I've used both Shutterfly and Blurb. I think both of them print nicely. I like the spine of Blurb better, as Shutterfly leaves a white spine that's sort of jarring to the eyes.

I settled on Mixbook after trying Shutterfly, Costco, Apple and a few others. I found it to be the easiest and most intuitive. PLUS Mixbook has a terrific guarantee of customer satisfaction. I have had them reprint several books even though the subtle mistakes were my own. Give it a try!

Some would call me "el cheapo." I take some time to crop the pictures the way I want them. Then I use publisher and an 8 1/2 X 11 page or more for related pictures. At the same time I label each picture and include the date somewhere on the page. I've had good success printing on Epson premium presentation paper MATTE with my ET- 4550 printer. Then I put the print in a sheet protector and whatever size 3-ring binder I want.

If you are an excellent print and want to get the best colors, you should be aware that unless you switch OFF the global parameter that automatic color balance all your book images and another one you must cancel on each photo you place in their books. They had to reprint my first book with them and still messed up the coffee table type photo book I had them print. Since MyPulisher was killed by Shuterfly, I have gone thru Shutterfly and on to MixBook.com and am pleased with the way they handle my travel photo books. Just be ware of what the software you are using does to your photos and ask if there will be any changes made by the company's printing process. Shutterfly is good for novice photogs that don't know how to calibrate their monitors and correct exposures... I always ask the Printer what their lines per inch is on their printering presses. just double the Lines per inch and that would be the correct DPI for your book photos. That allows me to send them the proper PPI and sized images for a much better photo book.

I have been using Shutterfly pretty much since they began and am extremely satisfied. I believe they have wonderful customer service and have always responded positively when I have had concerns. I make at least one large photo book each year to recount our travels and family gatherings and they have become a treasured part of our family. I have not used the others so I cannot make a reasonable comment on them except to say I think Shutterfly is one of the best companies I have ever dealt with online. And, no, I don't own stock and am not connected in any way except using their service.

Shutterfly is one of the oldest doing the photo books. But after killing MyPublisher, which had all the features and book quality, I tried Sutterfly and they messed with the images I placed in their photo book software, they screwed up my travel book of many many hours I put into this book. The quality customer service is good, but they do try to improve all your photos in a submitted/purchased photo book. I prepare my photos in any photo book to make sure they go to their presses without changing any of the photo characteristics.... For the mass market they are probably pretty good. The construction of the photo books is as good as any of the other printers I've tried. If you don't produce print quality photos, say more the snapshot type of picture taker, then Shutterfly is your best place to go.... As a retired freelance photographer, I have my ways of doing things and whenever I produce a photograph for others to look at, they must see the best I can do... This was to be an helpful note for those who haven't experienced any photo book printers, not to say anybodies company is better than an others, but some pre-press your worsk differently and you should know. If you have any other questions please forward them to my email at: stuparr@stusplace.com and we can talk/type more on the subject.... (I probably to 4 to 6 photo coffe table books each year. Just saying that I do have some experience at this!)
