As a little update, I have just ordered from Digital Rev, the following:

EOS5D MkIII
24-105 lens
70-200 f2.8 L USM II IS
Battery grip
spare original battery
Remote RC-06
Sandisk 32Gb Exteme Pro CF
2x 77mm basic UV filters. Wanted the Hoya Pro Protectors but could not see them
Digital Rev 'Gift Package'

Total price came to £4420, give or take a few pennies, including postage.

Not worked out a UK or Jersey price for this lot. but am sure it is cheaper.

I did try and order from Camera Paradise, and their price was lower for a similar purchase. it came to about £3800. But then they added on a £596 clearance fee plus £120 shipping.

They wanted to charge me the same price for Jersey (5% GST) Guernsey ( Zero GST) or UK (20% VAT) Digital Rev, do at least charge a loweer price for shipments to jersey or Guernsey than they do to the UK. Not 15 or 20% less as I would have hoped, but certainly less than the price by a good amount. Camera paradise were going to charge the same regardless of if they were sending to a Zero GST area or a 20% VAT area.

They have been claiming the fee is totally a Clearance /EU duty fee. but can't specify what it is.
I checked the TARIC website and phoned my local Customs people here in Jersey, and it seems digital camera have a Zero Percent duty...strange but it seems to be true.

http://ec.europa.eu/taxation_customs/dds2/taric/measures.jsp?Lang=en&SimDate=20120920&Taric=8525803000&LangDescr=en

I believe individual accessories come under a different classification, and am still unsure as to whether the link above is the correct classification for digital SLR's but as yet, I have not been able to find any other entry on TARIC that fits digital cameras any better.

I pointed all this out to Camera Paradise, saying that I think that they just try and attract customers with a low price, then make their profit by claiming an exaggerated 'Clearance fee'.
Up until that point they replied to my e-mails within 24 hours. Since I have started questioning them about this..not one single reply to the last two e-mails, in three weeks..so i have not exactly deluged them to the extent that they are just ignoring my mails to them.
I did post a similar comment on the Camera Paradise Facebook page...hey guess what, they replied once, then as soon as other people replied to it..it got deleted...strange eh?
