A great set and a well deserved memorial to Capt. Jeff Kuss, USMC. I have to add this to my bucket list. Mahalo for sharing.

WOW, that was a quick turn-a-round from the local folks to construct this awesome memoir. Kudos to them.
I do have a question, may be dumb but.....the aircraft, is that an true aircraft painted in the Blue Angel colors and logo?
Reason I ask, I see on the rear of the craft there are covers over the engine exhaust!
Enjoyed your images of this nice memento.

Yes it is a real F18 and was part of the diamond formation that dreadful day as Blue Angel Number 3. Ironically their flight path took them right over the crash sight. They all saw him crash. There are a couple YouTube videos if your interested. Just search YouTube for "Jeff Kuss Memorial". As far as covering the intake and exhaust. That's wise and common to do in order to keep birds from building unsightly nests.

I finally got to walk around this beautiful memorial built by the citizens of the town of Smyrna Tennessee to honor Captain Jeff Kuss USMC and Blue Angels pilot who crashed here during practice for the Great Tennessee Airshow June 2, 2016.

The Memorial is built to look like Jeff's plane is lifting off over a runway.

In the background are more plaques honoring those who built this place.

The Memorial overlooks the airport that Jeff last flew out from.
