I finally got to walk around this beautiful memorial built by the citizens of the town of Smyrna Tennessee to honor Captain Jeff Kuss USMC and Blue Angels pilot who crashed here during practice for the Great Tennessee Airshow June 2, 2016.

The Memorial is built to look like Jeff's plane is lifting off over a runway.

Yes the city never rested after the accident. The town was devastated afterwards and needed something like this for closure. All of us who live in the area can now feel comfort that Jeff has been properly honored. It has built in lights and one of these days I'd like to attempt to photograph this at dusk.
