Here are a few shots taken last year during a hotel stay.

Whenever we travel we try to squeeze a set or two of boudoir images in. Of course, there are hurdles. One being lighting. If we travel by air the equipment on hand will be minimal. You also don't have much control over the color scheme and furnishings of a hotel room and sadly a lot of the corporate chains seem to be rolling out decorating schemes to their entire chain at once. If you tend to stay in the same chains you may travel completely across the country and walk into a room with exactly the same look.

I'm about to get in trouble.

With the push to get everything lifted, sucked or coolsculpting if not even to just look like Twiggy to start with I come to just look at your lovely wife, even though mine's better LOL, and I didn't even notice the hotel room.

it is amazing how closely her eye color matches her lingerie! You really captured her beauty well.

Those of you that only work with young, fit models are missing out on a lot of the fun and challenges associated with boudoir photography.

Of course, working with someone you live with and love is convenient but presents its own challenges, the main one being cooperation. For the most part I've never really had any issues in that department. She knows I enjoy taking boudoir images and she enjoys the attention, posing, picking out clothes, and the interaction if it's a group shoot. A recent hurdle is body image. As my wife ages, she feels less and less lens worthy. She does not look like the young woman I married but then I certainly do not look like her young man. I happen to like her mature and voluptuous figure. I also happen to think that a few extra pounds can make an older model look younger and more attractive, certainly not a reason to gain weight, just a general observation.

Since I don't want to feed her insecurities when I manage to capture a truly unflattering image it gets permanently deleted. I don't do that with any of my other photos including nudes of other models because I feel looking back through bad images is a great learning exercise. It's the photographer's job to capture female models in the best possible light and the blame. Once a model has done everything possible to make herself as attractive as possible, the rest is up to you.

Nice set of a pretty woman. I don't understand the idea that a professional model shouldn't smile... Your better half has a beautiful smile - glad she uses it.

Thanks,

Headboard reflections are a reoccurring issue with hotel shoots. It seems no matter where you put your lights and flashes you get a glare of the polished surfaces. Quite often there is "artwork" attached to the walls with glass frames that cause the same issue. Still, given the choice of dealing with them or not shooting at all, I usually pull out the camera. Some selective editing could help the issue, I could pull down the whites in that area and see what that yields. Normally if I really, really like an image, I'll take more time to play with it.
