Wonderful images. Stunning and well taken. I would love to drive up to Alaska with my Jeep and all of my camera gear. Can't seem to find anyone who wants to go with me. . .and it does not seem like the kind of trip that one should make alone.

I drove up twice by myself when I was younger. The first time in the early 60tis, by that time it was sort of a gamble, but now the highway is paved, no problem. I always prefer to go alone, once I took a friend with me, we flew up, after a week we didn't even talk to each other anymore, what can you say if someone says: Why do you want to take a picture of that mountain, you see one mountain you have seen them all. We are talking again.

The trees in the first image are about 100 years old as they only have a few feet to spread their roots the rest is permafrost. Every year I drove by I took a picture of this reflection, in 15 years there was no change, like time stands still, amazing Alaska. All images were taken in my favorite state, Alaska.
I guess unless I win the lotto, I will never see the beautiful state Alaska, with all of it's beauty!

Yes from your end of the country it might get expensive just to get there. From my home in the San Francisco area it is only a 4 hour flight, all the times I went up there I went off season, mid September, it is cheaper and no more mosquitoes, plus the nice fall color. I hope you make it, it is beautiful. As I am 82 years old now my travel days are over.

I would love to do a cruise over there, but my husband can't take the cold. He lived in Ohio and had to move to warmer weather, numbness in hands and feet. I turned 59 this year, and I bird on my days off. I know one day I will not be able to do it, as I have seen my mom with a love for birding, have to almost give it up unless it is riding, or in her front yard. Maybe some day I will make it, and I will certainly think of you!

Very nice blacks2. That is one state I will visit before I leave this world and when I do, I hope I can capture some of its beauty like you do.

Thank you. A bit of advise, as I stated before, September is the best month to see the beauty of Alaska.
