I am about to buy a Nikon D750. My only concern is that the model has been out a number of years, and I would like to avoid buying a camera if a replacement model is in the offing. Do any of you know if Nikon is planning a replacement to the D750 this year?

It's basically been replaced already with the D850. Went from D750 to D850 maybe the next will be the D950? But like Canon, they offered the 5D Mark III after it's sucessor the 5D IV. Eventually the III will go away. So, your choice, get the 750 or the 850 now.

The 850 is not the same line as the 750.
The 850 replaces the 810.
Different build quality.
Rumor on the Nikon D760:

I think if there is one it would replace both the D610 and D750.

I’ve not read anything about a 610 replacement, so you could be right. The 750 is quite popular. I’ve tried renting one locally and they said they are rarely available- wedding photogs keep them rented for the season instead of buying.

As others have said, it was posted on a Nikon rumor site. So, wait until Photokina, which is at the end of September this year, where major announcements are made.

The D750 is a fine camera with an equally fine reputation. (For the nay sayers, yes it had some birth pains but they have been resolved.) A replacement might have some new bells, some new whistles, but it won't take any better pictures. If you need a new camera, do you need it now? if so why wait. Your end product won't be any better.

I've been interested in the D750 but I'm going to wait until the Photokina show in September. There's no doubt that there will be new announcements.

I think they will introduce the new mirrorless camera as in this teaser video

Based upon typical industry practice,
figger the 750 already replaced the
610. IOW 610 inventory is leftovers.
Noticed the 750 body is very slightly
different than the 610, but it doesn't
seem significant. I have both. 750 is
pretty much an incremental upgrade
to the 610.
Won't be sooprize if the Z-camera is
a parallel to the 750, not to the 8XX.
Seems like a good market segment
for a major launch. Not enuf lenses
are initially ready in the Z mount to
justify a higher level launch.
The Z itself should not cost more
than the a 750 upgrade. The Sony
a7XXX series cost LESS than their
existing a99/a99-II. No crystal ball,
but been around a while ....

It could take better pictures. If they increase the resolution, they will most likely eliminate the anti-aliasing filter.

Latest rumors are 2 mirrorless bodies, priced around $3.000 and $4000.

Talk is cheap. The D750 replacement will not be. If I wanted one, I'd buy it today. The new model will cost at least 25% more than the D750, but will it offer anything you really want that the D750 doesn't have? The D750 is a great camera at a realistic price. How long are you willing to wait to pay more for a camera that may not offer substantial improvements?
