I believe I would drop either the tiger (front paws cut off) or the flamingo (Normal everyday characteristic pose).
The little boy / lemur interaction really tells a story. The zebras intertwined necks signifies a closeness between them.
The butterfly I like but wonder if a little contrast should be added.
The gorilla's expression is quite meaningful as he watches people watching him/her.
Good luck in the competition.
Roger

As lovely as it is, I would eliminate the Butterfly, as personally, I would not associate a butterfly with a zoo.

The contest images had to be shot at the Detroit zoo on July 14 and 15, 2018. Light Photoshopping allowed: exposure, sharpening, color correction only.

I have to pick the best 5 of these (in other words, eliminate one). I'm looking for your consensus. Thanks.

Emperor Butterfly
Gorilla
Tiger
Toddler
White Flamingos
Zebras

I like the tiger and the young gorilla most.

I really like all of them, but I think the tiger has the least potential the grab the judges attention.

The butterfly, since I doubt any zoo has a butterfly house & crop left side of tiger for a better portrait shot of the animal. The last 3 pics should be winners & let us
know how you did in the contest.

All are nice. Love the zebras. The ape is the most static, if that means anything in the contest.

Great shots Fotoartist, all good, but I would eliminate the butterfly, has nothing to do with the zoo, good shot though

Wonderful shots. In mho, I would eliminate the zebra shot.

The bottom 4 are keepers for sure. The least interesting to me is the butterfly. IMHO. But I’m not sure that accounts for much yet. Still a beginner.

Your question is real hard to respond to since all your photos are wonderful. If pressed I would eliminate the butterfly.
