I grew up with Monarchs, and loved them. They are incredible insects - their migration! We don't see them in Albuquerque, so you photos, and learning of your work with the Monarchs was a special treat for me.

So nice! Congrats! Love the bottom pic. Here's ours. A friend gave us cats last week. They're getting big!

Many thanks Sylvia... three more to emerge any day now and then taking care of little ones that are very delicate... I lost many, but thankfully a handful of them seem to be doing fine!

Many thanks, aubreybogle, for your visit and lovely comment!! I planted milkweed and they found my garden after not seeing them for many years... this is my second year of being honored to help them!! Glad you enjoyed!!

Lovely shots Angela, at least you are saving some of them, As we do not have them over her, what is the visual difference between boys and girls. Is one bigger or do they have different patterns on the wings?

We got 6, but only have 2 now. We passed 2 on and they're doing well at a friend's house. 2 of them were very tiny and didn't survive. :( These 2 are eating and pooping machines! I took that picture around lunch and they've already at the entire top of the milkweed and one whole big leaf! They are so cute to watch. Exciting!

Glad you liked these, Val... I have seven small ones that seem to be doing well and I hope to see them make it through their transition.
The males have two black ovals that you can see when their wings are open, those are their scent glands... and I saw them, so it's a boy!! Hoping there are females in the last three that will emerge any day now.

Are you keeping them inside in a box... because they will go and try and find a sturdy place to hang and then they should never be distrubed because that will cause them harm. Last year, I was able to take a video of one of mine wiggling out of his skin, right before going into chrysalis!! It is exciting and a miracle to watch!!
