Actually, cannabis has been used medicinally since about 3000BC, which is when it was first identified in Chinese writings. Hemp, a cannabis derivative, was grown in the Colonies for its use as paper, cloth and rope, among other things. It was prescribed by physicians and sold in drugstores in the United States from the early 19th century until 1937. Queen Victoria, know for being very conservative, used it for her menstrual pain. It wasn't until the US started the Federal Bureau of Narcotics (predecessor to the DEA) that cannabis became a "bad" drug. The original reasons for its positioning as a dangerous drug was based on racism and money. If one were to look at the myriad studies that have been done internationally, one would see that cannabis is very effective in treating various conditions and ailments. However, if one chooses to believe the propaganda that the feds keep spewing about the dangers of marijuana, it perpetuates an archaic and wrongheaded belief. It is ironic that the FDA has just approved a cannabis derived pharmaceutical to treat epileptic seizures, while still saying there is no medical benefit to cannabis. Huh??

BTW, it doesn't do anything for hair loss or hemorrhoids. However, it can reduce or stop epileptic seizures, enable multiple sclerosis patients to move from wheelchairs to canes, reduce the horrendous effects of chemotherapy and in some case shrink tumors, relieve chronic pain and anxiety, reduce the night terrors and flashbacks of PTSD, reduce the eye pressure of glaucoma sufferers, and dramatically reduce the symptoms of Parkinson's disease. And, so much more. How do I know this? Because I have personally counseled over 4,000 medical cannabis patients over the last 4.5 years.

I heard it was also "good for boils, moles and sore butt holes ... and guaranteed to make baby birth a pleasure!!!"
or so I'm told

Wow, another thread destroyed by the UHH grumps in the balcony.

The Muppet show called, they want you back in the balcony where you belong.

I never understood this logic:

1.) Some folks abuse X.

2.) Therefore X should not become legal.

That's horrible reasoning.

There are some studies that show moderate alcohol use can be beneficial. But that's not the point. We tried outlawing alcohol, and it didn't work. Now we are finally ending marijuana prohibition.

When a new patient comes to the dispensary, the counseling is strongly recommended. There is no charge for the counseling, it is a service provided by the dispensary. It is to educate the patient and ensure that the correct strains of cannabis are selected for that patient's ailments or symptoms.

So, as expected, you are in the business of selling that substance. No wonder you spew out all that non sense, unsubstantiated garbage earlier. The benefits of this substance has been blown out of proportion by the likes of YOU. You dont charge for your counseling, of course, you charge for the substance. Im in the health industry and its people like you who are confusing people in order to make a buck. A lot go to this substance because they LIKE it NOT because of its supposed benefits. That where you capitalize. Its shameful....but of course you need to have a conscience in the first place.

Cannabis has its place as a useful treatment and people like you are not interested in that. You want to blow it all up, cash the cow as long as possible, as long as there are ignorant idiots willing to believe your crap.

The FDA has already approved one cannabis drug for epilepsy. Scientific testing to approve other uses have been very difficult because of the federal government's insistence on keeping a schedule 1 drug, which is completely ridiculous. You can say some of the claims for cannabis are apocryphal, but when people say they have been able to quit using opioids because of cannabis, that can't be a bad thing.

Wrong info again. The drug that was approved was Epidiolex which is a cannabidiol and was accepted as treatment for CERTAIN types of epilepsy, not FOR epilepsy. Those types are Lennox-Gastaut and Dravet Syndrome. Those are two quite rare syndromes. Thats again another clever manipulation by these people to continue milking that cow. They count on the dependence this substance creates and dressed it up as "medical". Thats a LOT of BS. Changing cannabis for opiods is not as a good thing as you wrongfully say. How many car accidents happen while under the influence of cannabis? LOTS. Oh yes. That will only increase thanks to hypocritical individuals like this Jeff character above. Of course the income to pay for a cute little airplane must come from some place huh Jeff?

There have been no studies to my knowledge that determine whether marijuana smoke, and the effects of burning butane, burning paper, incinerated marijuana, carbon monoxide and tar (resin) can cause cancer. I agree that smoking is the least desirable method. I always recommend vaporizers. BTW, marijuana is a bronchodilator.

Again BS. Short term exposure to marijuana has been linked to bronchodilation. SHORT TERM. It has been determined to have a link. ITS NOT CLASSIFIED AS A BRONCHODILATOR. Thats a lie like most of the crap you wrote. You know what else is true about its lung effects. Long term use has been linked to obstructive lung disease How about that? Bet you dont say that in your counseling right? Those "counseling" sessions are more like a sales pitch. Just like a used car salesman in TV. Unethical to say the last. Misguided, full of manipulated information. How are things in the flying boys club? Good I imagine.
