Dirtpusher, I was not talking about the paper. I was talking about the smoke from burning the marijuana and inhaling it into your lungs. But since you brought up the subject of the rolling paper, do you know if it is manufactured using a process different from cigarette paper? If not, I guess a marijuana smoker is getting the same 400 chemicals as the cigarette smoker.
The paper is how they put all those chemicals in cigarettes. It is sprayed on after the paper is made. Such as the the chemicals to help it go out if not being inhaled on. Those chemicals are not used on papers to roll a joint.
But
It seems logical that smoking weed could lead to lung cancer: The American Lung Association says pot smoke has more carcinogens than cigarette smoke. Pot smokers also tend to inhale more deeply and hold the smoke in their lungs longer than tobacco smokers do, which increases the lungs' exposure.
But the evidence, at this point, doesn't seem to back up the theory. A large study in 2006 found no link between weed and lung cancer - this to the surprise of the UCLA research team, whose members expected to find a correlation.

Regardless of whether various chemicals are or are not present in the cigarette paper, smoking pot WILL deposit particulates in the lungs. And regardless of whether such particulates lead to cancer, they certainly CAN cause bronchitis and eventually COPD.
If you don't believe me, light up a cigarette or a joint. Then take several deep breaths (without the cig) and blow through a clean
Kleenex (#1). Then fill your mouth from the cig or joint without inhaling into your lungs, and then blow that smoke out through a clean Kleenex (#2). Then inhale deeply from the cig or joint and exhale through a clean Kleenex (#3). You'll likely see that only Kleenex #2 is dirty or discolored. That means that all the crap seen in Kleenex #2 stayed in your lungs.
This experiment is what convinced me to stop smoking.

I decided to gain further information on this subject to help me decide whether or not to toke:
First, I obtained and lit up a joint.
Secondly, I inhaled long and deep before releasing it into the atmosphere.
Thirdly, I fired up another joint, duplicating the actions in step #2.
Fourthliish, Firing up yet another joint, I mellowed out and yet again began to consider...or speculate....or whatever.
Fifthliestest, Wished that I had just one Bud Lite...didn't, so I fired up nummer 5, or 6, or whatever
Sixtularity, Bogarted numblar 6 (7?) and felt my chest for any sign of pluggage, or plumage, or fgkelstan. Nope! ALL CLEAR!
Sevenstalltng, ZZZzzzzzzz.
Dang! Ain't Science wunnaful? Time for me to get in the car and drive home...hope neither you or any of your family are in my way as I drive home, if there ARE.........

It doesn't have to be smoked. You can make or buy edibles, or get a vaporizer.

If we are going to outlaw substances which cause driving impairment, we have to ban alcohol (didn't we try that?) and numerous prescription drugs.
