Probably like any other vice, if used in moderation there won't be bad consequences. However, excessive smoking destroys drive and initiative (at a minimum).
Yep, my adopted Bro started smoking it, claimed it don’t hurt anything. In his last three months of his senior year He smoked so much and missed so much school he failed two classes so he tries to go to summer school but only made it two days. So for some weed he threw away all the years of school.

Yes, I'm sure there are medical uses for marijuana, as is for opium, Botlulinum Toxin, curare, and various other plant derivatives. But we wouldn't consider legalizing them.
If you want to slow down brain function, grass will do just that.
As dirtpusher said, you can do the same thing over and over again, listen to the same song over and over. Well that's just whoopee.
People can have an alcoholic drink, even 2 with next to no effects on driving, etc. And stop right there.
But the whole idea of smoking marijuana is the get stoned to one degree or another.
If you're talking drunk v stoned, yes, I've never heard of a mean stoned person, mean drunk, yes. I can be.
Mix the two and it's real trouble.
When they invent a roadside test for marijuana intox I'll feel better, but they don't have one.
And yes I've experienced both drugs.
And Dirtpusher br Yes, I'm sure there are medical ... (

1. Very few of my patients want to get high. Mostly, they just want to be functional. There are high CBD strains that will absolutely not get you high.
2. There are strains that can be so motivating that one of my patients claimed after using one of them he painted his whole garage in two hours.
3. As far as slowing down brain function. Sorry not true of every strain. Several increase focus and creativity.
4. Let's see Botox is botulism toxin and it is prescribed. Synthetic opium in the form of prescription opioids like Oxycotin, Oxycodone, Percocet, Tramadol, and fentanyl are killing approximately 46,000 Americans every year. There are NO documented cases of an overdose death caused by marijuana.
5. The purpose of recreational marijuana is to get high, no question. The purpose of medical marijuana is to get better. Getting a high is often an unwanted side effect.
6. New point: All of the addicts (recovering or still dependent) that I have spoken with have said that it was alcohol that led them to harder drugs. Not one has claimed it was marijuana that was the gateway drug.
Nobody said that it “cured” anything!
Does anyone have any reliable research or data on the connection between smoking marijuana and lung cancer? Even if there are no carcinogens in the smoke, I can't imagine it would be good to inhale smoke of any kind into your lungs.
I have searched and I cannot find anything.

Lol it about like drinking. Some will get falling down drunk. Some couple drinks as you said.
Some will TRY smoke a whole joint by themselves, but mostly get less than half you will pinch it out save for later. Your body tells you you had enough. Why smokes say when sharing a joint I'm full, I'm done. An quit. Even when they smoke to that level they don't run stop signs or lights. Like drinkers.
Problem they have, they drive to slow most times.
An when they come to a stop sign. They might wait till it turns gween. Lol
Been on both sides the fence.

There have been no studies to my knowledge that determine whether marijuana smoke, and the effects of burning butane, burning paper, incinerated marijuana, carbon monoxide and tar (resin) can cause cancer. I agree that smoking is the least desirable method. I always recommend vaporizers. BTW, marijuana is a bronchodilator.

The oil is good for COPD to relax bronchocials an reduce inflammation.
I just can't understand why i the world people smoke or otherwise get high on marijuana. It would be a complete waste to me.

Wouldn't smoke it then.
What do do you mean: "Wouldn't smoke it then"? I'm getting tired of people who don't know how to use the English language. Is that what they taught you in school? Or rather they didn't teach you?
Dirtpusher, I was not talking about the paper. I was talking about the smoke from burning the marijuana and inhaling it into your lungs. But since you brought up the subject of the rolling paper, do you know if it is manufactured using a process different from cigarette paper? If not, I guess a marijuana smoker is getting the same 400 chemicals as the cigarette smoker.

..........
Exactly my point. It distorts your perception of time, aside from other perceptions, including hearing.
I'm sure there are legitimate medical uses, my problem is legalizing it for general consumption.
You know what's driving the push to legalize it among politicians. They see $$$$.
