Never dealt with Dodd Camera but in order to buy a good bridge camera you probably already know, they cost as much and are just as big as an entry level DSLR.

I have been researching bridge cameras on line for a while now and I am on information overload, so now I need to go to a brick and mortar store to actually hold the cameras, I also want their input. The answer I am looking for now has anyone used the Dodd Camera store in Mentor Ohio, I did not see their name mentioned here. Their prices are in line with Amazon and a few others I checked, but I do not know what their reputation is. Any help will be appreciated.

If it's a bricks and mortar store and you can be there then visit the store. Seeing the store in person would tell you a lot about their operation.

I have purchased my last two digital Nikon DSLRs from Dodd Camera in Mentor Oh. I too am a local. I live only about two and a half miles from them to the west, in the town that borders them that has a revived Victorian era downtown with trendy restaurants and bars. I'm sure you know where I am talking about. I have never felt being pushed into purchasing any piece of equipment that I did not want. If the salesman named "Arv" is still at that store ask for him I believed he is currently the veteran associate there. The other sales people are OK too. I always try to give local businesses a first try. I hope you camera purchase no matter where you buy is a pleasant one.

Dodd has stores in Cincinnati area. There staff is very knowable, especially dealing with setting up and programing various electronic camera functions. Their prices are the same in most stores, but they are really nice to deal with. B&H is good and also with no sales tax in other states but with new law that states can charge tax that puts then on par with Dodd. Dodd has some really nice used equipment as well.

Dodd is a honest store. I live in Cleveland for 48 years and used Dodd all the time.

They are my “go to” brick and mortar store; I purchased my D5300 there and have been more than pleased with their products, prices and services.

I deal with the Dodd's store in Fairlawn (Akron), OH. They are knowledgeable, fair, and honest. I would, and do, recommend them.
It's also a good thing to support the local businesses.

I live in Akron, Ohio and have dealt with them on the past. Their main store is on the corner of E30th. and Carnegie. They are very knowledgeable.

I've purhased several items from dodd camera. They have several branches, the largest of which is downtown on East 30. I've gone there for my larger purchases, but am also pleased with the mentor store. The branches sometimes do not have as much of an inventory.

Foe what it's worth, I just purchased a sony rx10-IV and love it. I posted a question about bridge cameras about a month ago, and got a lot of valuable feed back from member. Here's the link in case you hadn't read it

Dealt with the stores in Middleburg Hts. & North Olmstead before they closed, had no problems. The main one is in Downtown Cleveland. Campus Camera in Kent is great and quite knowledgeable.
