I don't know why you would want to. It is faster to just use cable to camera or pull the sd card and use the reader on the computer. I have wifi on my camera but never use it because it is too slow.
Depends on how many to transfer, if you want to shoot tethered wireless, if you want to transfer to a tablet, computer or phone. There can be reasons but generally a card reader is easy and faster...if dealing with more than a handful...

Olympus is not on the list.

There is a DIY hack to make your own for less than $50
I wonder if Olympus even has software to control their camera remotely... Last Olympus I have is an OM-1 and OM-10 from years ago...

Some cameras I have you can use wifi with a tablet/laptop or phone, etc. to control focus and shutter release, some do more than others.....Nikon bridge can zoom and such too.

I believe some can.
Never owned an OM-1 but sold a bunch of them at a previous job.
Great feel. I had an EM-1 for a bit. Never could get past the kludgy interface. Other than that big issue, great camera.

Everyone has different needs and reasons why they may need to do things a certain way. Say they need photos on a tablet for example, or on a work computer and aren't able to plug accessories in. Or they may need to be able to control the camera remotely, which would need to be part of the cameras software.

I never use wi-fi for downloading pics to computer, but I do use it and radio control to control all sorts of camera functions (depending on the cameras capabilities), there is simply so many things you can do with wi-fi control, and r/c that can really broaden your experience.
