I've been married to a (Jewish) wife for 44 yrs. She loved it and so did I. Jews are known to be able to laugh at ourselves (Henny Youngman, Rodney Dangerfield and the entire generation of the Catskill "Borscht Belt" comics) are a perfect example. It wasn't designed or meant to hurt anyone and I was not offended in the least.

I like the "Ours."
It would have been just as funny without the Jewish flavoring.
"A wealthy businessman and his wife..."
Yeah... what does Jewish have to do with it? Anybody can have a mistress.
Glad you and you wife enjoyed the post. It certainly was not intended to offend. The ironic part is this joke was sent to me by a Jewish girlfriend. We need to laugh at ourselves more often. Hope you and your wife have a great day!

Jewish wives, mine included...
Wow. Donโt know what to say. What else is true about all Jewish wives? And donโt waste bandwidth saying you didnโt use the word โall.โ

So youโre Jewish and laughing at yourself? Got any good black or gay jokes to share? Reinforcing stereotypes makes society worse.
To answer your question, yes I do and most were shared with me by Black or gay friends. We were not intending nor did we ever consider this an attempt to reinforce negative stereotypes. We were, to the contrary, sharing these to recognize and hopefully disarm the racial and gender hatred we see growing every day.
In fact, last year at our synagogue, we had a comedy night that included a black comedian and a gay Jewish female comic. And yes, some folks were at first uncomfortable but soon realized that comedy is often the best way to show that bigotry is a toothless animal because each comic incorporated how their race/ lifestyles helped them to grow as individuals and how humor served as a springboard to disarm those who were biased against them. Perhaps you could do the same and build that into a D'var Torah?
You get it! Thank you for your intelligence. It is very true that this disarms stereotypes.
Some people just like being offended. Take things as intended, if you are looking for trouble you will always find it.
Jesus people it is just a frickin joke. Have we become overly sensitive to the point we lost out ability to laugh at ourselves and with each other. Political correctness will kill society. These jokes and more like this have been around for decades.

Maybe some take offense to your spelling of Rabbi? Learn to laugh it will do you Good.
Well, this thread pretty much exemplifies the current state of America. Somebody is offended by almost anything.
