A Gitzo R No. 4 pan/tilt with an Arca Swiss FlipLock Quickset Device. I've used this setup exclusively for years.

It's time for everyone to list the ONE tripod head that you use the most if you use one at all. Also if you use one quick remove plate or a whatever it came with.

I had three pods with a different head on each. The one most use, when ever I do use one, it a simple ball head. Probably because it is simple to use.

What's yours?

I use the DOLCIA G 100 pistol grip ball head that has built in QR plates that lock in my camera quite solid and also ad 6+inches to my tripod with out ctanking up the center post. It reposition quite easly with just the press and release of the hand lever.

I use a quick release plate one. It has 3 axis movements and a centre bar with a hook (to adjust
the centre of gravity and secure it against involuntary wobbles).
But I never carry it with the camera attached to it. I don't trust that QR plate much...

RSS BH55 for ball head, but I don't really use it much. RRS Pano Gimbal and I use it a ton... Guess that may not be one but it is the real deal for me... Lever releases and RRS L and Lens plates.

I have two tripods. An Induro carbon fiber tripod with an Induro ball head with Arca-Swiss compatible QR clamp. The second is a Gitzo aluminum tripod with a center column and a Gitzo pan head with an Arca-Swiss compatible QR clamp. I prefer the Induro when weight matters (i.e., when I will be carrying it significant distances). Otherwise I prefer the Gitzo.

Acratech GP-ss with lever clamp on a Sirui tripod for travel and around home
3 others for around home on 3 other tripods - Benro V3, Arca Swiss, and Kaiser - but the Acratech is my favorite. All equipped with Arca type quick release plates.
