Had a few nuts left over from Christmas taking up room in the pantry. Threw them out on the rear sidewalk to see whom I could con into taking them off my hands. Had a copla black squirrels checking them out when this fine fella appeared. Made short work on the black ones (they twice his size but big chickens). When he saw me he went into the stance in the first picture, daring me to take his nuts. All of a sudden he realized exactly what he had between his legs and dropped the little one for the big one. He tried a bit to bite through the walnut unsuccessful and then took off. I think he still is probably trying to get into it as I haven't seen him since.

That squirrel has some really big nuts!
We have a gang of hoodlums that likes to raid our bird feeders. Maybe I should distract them with walnuts.

Great shots! Funny captions!
Cute little guy! We used to have a lot of squirrels in our little neighborhood but a hawk has taken up residence in a pine tree two doors down from my house. Donโt see near as many squirrels anymore. While I appreciate the role hawks play in controlling the rodent population, they also go after the birds too. And this one shrieks out its call constantly throughout the day. While itโs nice to hear the call of a hawk in the wild it can get pretty irritating when you hear it frequently anytime you are outside your house!
