This has been thiroughly debunked by Snopes. At the time, 2002, the Republicans were in charge of Congress and George W Bush was President. It was the first Cobgressional response to the 9/11 World Trade Center attacks. The Snopes analysis is lengthly.

Who cares? Both sides need to work together and they are not doing that.

If anybody is "torturing little children" it's the parents bringing them illegally across the border knowing if they get caught the proverbial "S * * t" is going to hit the fan. I am sympathetic to the kids but not one bit to the parents. Put your kids in harms way and then think the problem is with someone else? Give me a break.

The logic with them is irrelevant as well as the facts.

2002 ? wasn't George Bush president then. Just asking.

"Everyone remembers that in 1986, President Ronald Reagan passed an "amnesty" law. But what most people don't know is that in 1996 — fresh off the heels of signing welfare reform, and two years after signing the "crime bill" — President Bill Clinton signed a bill that overhauled immigration enforcement in the US and laid the groundwork for the massive deportation machine that exists today.

Both welfare reform and the crime bills Clinton signed have been relitigated during a contentious Democratic primary, but the 1996 immigration bill — the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act — hasn't."

That law applies to *unaccompanied* children. Under in previous administrations found foster homes for approx 700 children a year, who arrived at the border with no parent around at all.

Trump (and Sessions, mostly) have decided to reject outright all claims of asylum --- so people who were following US law when they left their country, were suddenly breaking it when they arrived at the border. The parents are immediately arrested, making the children suddenly "unaccompanied". Now, due to the trump admin policy, they are dealing with 700 new children every 10 days.

The Dept of Health & Human Service admits it has no procedure in place for re-uniting children with their parents.

Explain it to me in simple terms how "they were obeying US law when the left their home country"?

I'm not arguing with the libs. They must have forgotten that the President must follow the law. Maybe they didn't know that: A‌braham Lincoln is often paraphrased as saying, “The best way ‌to get a bad law repealed is to enforce it strictly.” Maybe old Abe and Trump had the same idea!

Wrangler, Trump doesn't agree with you. His attorney said that the President could shoot Comey in the Oval Office and couldn't be prosecuted. Trump thinks he can Pardon himself. BTW Comparing Trump to Lincoln is beyond disgraceful.

Seems to me that the Pro-Life people only give a shit about the fetus. Once it's born you people couldn't care less about it. I'd say you're not a bit hypocritical, you're a whole lot hypocritical.
By the way farm boy. Come to NYC and I'll take you on a walk through Bedford Stuyvesant and we'll see who's scared.

Why is bacteria considered life on Mars when a heartbeat is not here on Earth?

I think the "LIFE" argument from the pro-choice crowd is hypocritical.

BTW..... Bedford Stuy? Pfft! I've ridden my motorcycle in the rain plenty of times.

More TDS. They are not rejecting 'outright all claims of asylum'. Did you make that shit up? If you are seeking asylum, you go to a legal port of entry and seek asylum. That's how the system works. You don't get to claim 'asylum' like some kind of get-out-of-jail-free card AFTER you are caught illegally entering the country.
