As long as Rommey's actions were legal, it makes no difference how much taxes he paid. The government sets the rules and we all should live withing the rules.

There are many questions relative to Obama's actions being legal. Many of us would like a leader who is honest. In addition, we know that Obama has failed to run the government. We need a good manager.

Being a good or excellent Manager does not mean you can manage tha United States ... consider this .... as a Manager, to increase profitability or offset a loss, I can reduce head count .... once I terminate an employee, he is nolonger my problem .... he becomes a problem for the Government .... once the Government reduces staff ... that employee is still the Governments problem .... there are many things a Manager can do to make a problem someone elses responsibility ... but for Government the problem simply mutates but never disappears ...

I guess Pelosi & Reid are living in poverty as well since they won't release their records for us to see....By law, the presidential contenders are only required to release 2 years of returns, which he has. This proves that it's simply a Democratic ploy to divert attention away from Obama 's shortcomings, not a real issue.

Good point

Pelosi and Reid phil out financial disclosure forms every year as per the law. If you've ever filled out one of these forms you would know that they are much more inclusive than any tax return. They not only list income but list assets and corporate affiliations of the principal and their spouse. Thus, nothing is to be gained by looking at their returns. However, if they run for President, they will release their returns. Having said all that, why pick on only those two, If you want their tax returns why not the entire Congress?

My understanding is that Romney's "income" is only from capitol gains...and he pays lots of taxes on that. Also, it is my understanding that he donates 10% of the money he does manage to keep from his capitol gains to his church. Please correct me if I am wrong. I have not had time to verify this but will try to post what I do find.

Total speculation on this: I think the amount that the Romney family donates to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints is well over 10% of their "income".

When members contribute, the church teaches to give 10% of one's increase in tithes - and then more (if able) in additional offerings. There is a tithing "slip" that the member fills out, when giving their offering, that shows how much is in tithes - and then they can indicate where the additional contribution should be put into (ie:Fast Offerings, Humanitarian Relief, Missionary Fund, Perpetual Education Fund, and many other areas).

Another thing that I find interesting is that the members fill out their slips, and place them (along with the cash/check) in an envelope that only a few people ever see the amount being given. That information is confidential, and isn't being done in a "Look at me, I'm giving all this.....". Rather, it is being done humbly between a family and the Lord.

I've seen in the past where other Main Stream Media reports have talked about the past few years of Tax Records that all presidential candidates have released. I'm sure that Harry Reid (who also happens to be a Mormon - and is the "Second Most Powerful Man in the country" politically speaking) knew that his statement was false. Speaker Reid has also for many years, has called for auditing the Federal Reserve, and yet won't let the House Bill be brought to a vote in the senate to do just that. Speaker Reid has also said that Paying Taxes is VOLUNTARY, never mind that that IRS goon squad would arrest someone that doesn't pay.... Where is the Main Stream Media in reporting that ???

Back to the main topic: 0 Taxes in 10 years.... I believe the Speaker Reid's comment about this as much as the comment from the Janitor from the White House that said that the Obama's have not paid taxes in 20 years.... (Where was Speaker Reid's source??) Its all fodder, and a failing attempt to change the discussion about the President's Record - which even he said (before he took office) that if he doesn't take care of the economy - this will be a 1 Term President... Jimmy Carter all over again....

Maybe that explains why we'll never see his tax returns.
Either way Governor - This issue ain't going away.

Can what be true? That Harry Reid is a idiot? Yes that is certainly true..

That Romney paid no taxes? Highly unlikely!

So ... Harry Reid is an idiot .... he graduated Utah State University .... in 2010 rated by Forbes as the number one public university in the U.S.... he graduated George Washington University Law .... one of the top law schools in the nation .... so he is an idiot ... where did you do your undergraduate and post graduate work .... maybe that would give us a hint as to who is the idiot ...

Being educated does not mean that one is not an idiot. That has nothing to do with academic training. Idiocy is a state of mind. Most people who have a high IQ have less common sense than people with an average IQ. Your argument is irrelevent.

If you didn't notice, he was actually in charge when George W was in the Whitehouse.

No one has mentioned that Romney donated his inheritance from his father, George, to Charity.

No..he can't.

Because as soon as he provides the returns....then the busybodies will demand something else or have some complaint about HOW he provided them, or the content or SOMETHING....

If Americans are anything we are demanding and bloodthirsty.

That's a bogus argument.
Aparently, releasing his returns will have more negative impact on his campaign, than not doing so.
I don't know what it is, I have no reason to believe he did anything illegal. I do believe that his returns will paly into the populist belief that the wealthy have all the cards stacked in their benefit.

That's not just a populist belief is it - that the game is rigged by the wealthy for the wealthy.............oh right LIBOR was a parlor game not real......

I am tired of hearing about speculation. We have all the facts we could ever want. Lets start talking facts.

Was what Mitt has done for Mass complimentary of the Republican platform he was supposed to be standing on?

How about Obama? Has what he has done for the country in line with the Democrat platform?

I doubt you can honestly say yes to either. So now you have to pull your head out and try to figure out which prick will hurt our country less in the next four years.

Obama managed to break Bush's record for irresponsibility and I question if we can afford 4 more years of that. Romney is not a good option either but I wonder if anyone could cost as much as Obama did. Taxes? really? Obama stole billions of our money to give to bankrupt companies.

The national debt grew by $4.899 trillion during George W. Bush's 8 year presidency; the biggest increase under any president in U.S history at the time.

Obama increased the national debt by another $5.392 trillion in 4 years.

Romney gave 2 years of tax returns already. IRS checks 3 for problems and we are not the IRS. Quit quibbling and think about the actual issues. Is Romney so bad that we can afford another 4 years of Obama?

Perhaps Romney will show his tax returns when obama shows his school records (which he spent ~one million to keep hidden). What is good for the goose is good for the gander.

lets see.......i wonder how many people one would have to bribe to hide 20 some years of school records? I mean would 1 million be enough?

I wonder how much someone would have to pay to keep their income and taxes hidden? I think 1 million would be enough.

Much to do about nothing- Romney's income and tax situation- what should concern us more is Obama's refusal to date to allow his school records and travel documents prior to becoming a politician to be unsealed, why he and his wife were forced to surrender their law license, and why he is using a deceased Conn. man's Social Security number. Answering these issues are more important to me than whether or not the last two years of Romney's tax records are available.

When do we get to see Barry's school transcripts, or his college thesis?

Or did they get used for rolling paper?

Isn't it interesting that no matter the candidate, if we endorse him, every negative thing written about him/her has to be false, but if we dislike/despise the candidate, every negative rings true. We believe what we want to, whether true or false. We would be better off to understand that most politicians want to rule because they love power. Some use that power for the good of all, some only for those they are aligned with. Our job is to try to choose that one which has the welfare of All the people of the country in mind, not just a small portion of it.
