Last January I had my Nikon D300 stolen and have been keeping an eye out for another. Have run across what looks like a good deal but I really do not know the value in todays market. Comments are always welcome ...........

Nikon D300 with Nikon battery grip in like new condition.
2 chargers, 2 batteries, manual and original box.
16,500 Clicks.

Seller is original owner and is asking $450.

Being retired, running out and spending $1000+ is not an option. I still have my Nkon 50mm 1.8G lens and was happy with the Nikon D300.

Thanks to all who respond.

See Recent sales on eBay below. Of course, the price depends on who is bidding and how much they want it.

But Why ?
Whats old technology about it ?
It's old and the Pixels are not super high ..
But apart from that its near perfect ..
I shoot street life and Portraits .

I've owned a 300s for about one year now .
found it to be a fantastic Camera ... color rendition is great ,
strong and sturdy , battery life is very very good .

I'm not a subscriber to ' Having the latest ' ..
why ? even of one gets the ' Latest ' its no longer in that
category after one year !

I dont care if they laugh at me .. I'm sticking to the 300's until it breaks .

Go to ebay, type in Nikon D300, then, go to left margin and stroll down until you find SOLD ITEMS, punch that and you will see what Nikon D300's are currently going for. Now you will know if your deal is a good deal. Got it, now, GO. Or, just log on with this

My original D300 was stolen about a year ago.
I have been without a camera since, using my photo for photos.

MPB has several D300 bodies for less money. Here is one example listed below. I recently traded a Nikon body and lens for another Nikon body and lens. They are an excellent company to do business with.

If you are thinking of staying with a D300, take a look at the D300S instead.

Same here! I love the D300, it is built like a tank and is completely weather sealed.
Sure, the D300 does not have all the bells and whistles of the latest cameras or a
24MP sensor but then I am not making poster size photos either. 12MP gives me nice photos.

The only really issue I have now is compact flash is getting harder and harder to find.

LARGOBOB

NO made up story

This is what I get for not being more clear. I have had 2 D300 cameras. I sold the first one and my lens to pay for vet bills
as my dog was injured and needed surgery. And yes I was not happy about it either. I bought another and made the mistake
of leaving it in the car. The result was a broken window and a stolen camera. I am now looking to replace my lost D300 with
another.

No insurance claim other than the car window.

It all depends on the condition of the camera. The shutter actuations are considered low for a camera that can shoot around 150k clicks before repairs.
Take a look at Ebay and see what they actually sell for.

HEE, HEE! I still use the D200! I have two of them, very very happy! All the whistle and bells don't make the train go!

If you buy it, make sure itโ€™s in excellent shape as Nikon doesnโ€™t repair or support this camera any longer. You could have trouble getting parts.

I also use the D200, but if I could change it to the D300s I would. I also have and use the D70s, but the D200, D300 and now the D500 series are excellent cameras in all weathers.
