Fergmark, your water reflections are very nice - calm and quieting. Thanks for sharing them.

Great thread, Robert. I've deployed my alien repellent protocols, so it looks like you and Linda will both have to continue until further notice. lol

This shot is one of my project 365 photos. I was waiting in my car for Pizza and it was raining cats and dogs. There was a sign that was lit up that interested me, and I was eying the rain on my passenger side window. The window was being pelted, so there were lots of drops reflecting the neon of the storefronts. Unfortunately the Pies on Nine sign did not line up with my window. The solution was the take a photo of the sign and then one of the window. In PS I put the sign behind the window and this was the result.

Very pretty patterns.

Those Koi in #1 are probably a bit protected from the Ospreys now.

Great thread, Robert. I've deployed my alien rep... (show quote)

That is either being an ingenious artist or cheating. But at least you told us you...

And, I do not see a single cat or dog.

So many different kinds of light in this shot that I'm confused. I think some of it's reflected.

The puddle or wet pavement in the lower left is a reflection so you are safe, we don't have to toss you and your photo out.

Another great thread on lighting!

This picture was taken on an early morning at a nearby water preserve, where I found the tree reflections in water very appealing.

These were taken pre dawn on the grounds of the Audubon Society in north Greenwich Ct. A thin sheet of ice is suspended from the points of contact. Apparently the temporary pond had frozen over and then drained away. I was careful to keep my distance, not wanting to disturb anything, but preventing me from getting position. This was not a planned outing. The barn out of which I was working, had lost power, and I was on my way back home.

I'm enjoying this topic and thread, so... Here's an example of the recurring unfortunate difficulties with reflected light I face in my day job as a real estate and architectural photographer.

#2 has it all for me:rich color, integrated, good variety in composition. Lovely!

The splashes of yellow/gold look like Koi near the surface, is that light colored rocks?
