While there is more important news going on in the world, a recent announcment came stating that the Miss America contest is eliminating the swimsuit competition so that more attention is paid to the entrants' brains and character than their beauty. Poor move, IMHO. While the contestants are given every opportunity to showcase their intelligence, personality, and character, it has always been, in large part, a beauty contest. Eliminating the swimsuits in this pageant is like getting rid of fighting in the NHL. Any thoughts on this trivial matter?

If they're going to be messing with it, then it just needs to fade away.
They're making it PC, and therefore, taking all the fun out of it.
Their beauty is not really being covered up.

Is it possible a fat intelligent chick would ever wear the sash & crown?? Not on your Nellie. Sex appeal is what makes it.
Now the fatties have a chance. Must be brains you want not beauty, no longer a BEAUTY Pageant. Just a Pageant.
It could/should be run on the radio. Looks don't count???
Oh yes, I'd tune in at 02:00 to listen to the Miss America Pageant. Miss Piggy will be chuffed at the chance at last.

And that's why I stopped watching hockey
Haven't watched in years anyway.
Without the swimsuit competition, it will just be another reality TV show. I won't watch it ever again.
It won't draw flies. The good looking girls are in the Miss USA contest. Can anyone say dodo bird?
If God wanted all women to be the same, why did He make some better looking?
Might as well pit in on the radio, no longer any need for visual...

I stopped watching that and other beauty contests years ago. The whole thing was so phony it made me nauseous.
"Some girls need to get butt-glued up here [on their breasts] so that their bathing-suit top stays in place. You can't pull out your wedgies on stage, so you either spray some butt glue on your bottom or deal with it on stage. You got to do it with a smile." --A Miss South Carolina State Pageant Contestant
Miss Kentucky Jessica Casebolt said her "secret weapon" is wearing a "bombshell" bra (a push-up bra from Victoria's Secret) under her Miss America swimsuit.
No swim suits ? Soon the pageant will have quotas to address diversity and transgender issues etc etc
Mayor DeBlasio calling NYC elite High Schools racist . Quotas for air traffic controllers . Climate change etc etc etc
It’s the way Leftists stay in power , by immersing themselves into every aspect of our lives through rhetoric and emotion and ultimately by intimidation . Look at the millennials today , or most of them . Emotional basket cases driven by radicalism and agendas designed to increase governmental controls .
Isn’t wearing a swimsuit an innocent thing ? Where are we heading ?
