The topic of shaving or not shaving came up here. So I decided to show an image of my friend Eleanor who was involved in a bad car accident. Eleanor is going through medical recovery from her accident and started modeling again. We got together and did a photoshoot earlier this month.

How do you Hoggers feel about a woman being more on the natural side of not shaving. My girlfriend preferred shaving.

I've read a number of the comments; but here is mine. I think it's entirely up to the model; the task is to capture her and her mood in a particular setting, using photographic skill in showing the viewer what makes her real, appealing. So, in the interest of revealing a personality or mood at a particular time and setting, the model should decide. IMHO

I agree with you Lou. I have never made any suggestions to any of my models when it came to their appearance or grooming habits. These are what makes every model an individual. My job has always been to capture them in a way that displayed their individuality and uniqueness in the best way possible.

My congrats on the bravery she shows no doubt, she knows her "flaws"---and to you for bringing the trust out in her. I like a little Crafting down below, but natural in this case is more than just good.

Seems to me this whole issue is both a cultural one and maybe an age related one. Some cultures prefer natural, some do not. I'm told that the u.s.a. millenials tend for whatever reason to like shaven on both genders. I'm pretty sure some older age groups would vote the other way. If my wife were still alive she'd be laughing her head off at all the MEN here making comments.....followed by something like: None of the men's business! And a big laugh. The model looks very natural in your photo to me and I enjoyed it but the first thought I had was she reminded me of some photos I've seen of European women. Have no idea if that is still true. Body adornment like tattoos and rings and so on would be a similar thing I'd think. Photographer gets to choose or model gets to choose in my view...it depends.

Shaved armpits and shaved or barbered pubic area for me.

The revival of this thread triggered when I was sent to Germany in the Army in the late 1960s. Most frauleins did not shave/trim their armpits, pubic or leg hair. My first reaction as a 19 year old was "how gross". A month or two later was "what body hair?". Maybe we should adjust to what is given to us so no preference unless circumstances or conditions require it (like if this was a tiny bikini shoot).
