I've read a number of the comments; but here is mine. I think it's entirely up to the model; the task is to capture her and her mood in a particular setting, using photographic skill in showing the viewer what makes her real, appealing. So, in the interest of revealing a personality or mood at a particular time and setting, the model should decide. IMHO
I agree with you Lou. I have never made any suggestions to any of my models when it came to their appearance or grooming habits. These are what makes every model an individual. My job has always been to capture them in a way that displayed their individuality and uniqueness in the best way possible.
