The topic of shaving or not shaving came up here. So I decided to show an image of my friend Eleanor who was involved in a bad car accident. Eleanor is going through medical recovery from her accident and started modeling again. We got together and did a photoshoot earlier this month.
How do you Hoggers feel about a woman being more on the natural side of not shaving. My girlfriend preferred shaving.

Eleanor
Rob, for the studio, for the lens, for the art I much prefer the smooth bare down there and up there look. I believe, in my eye that an exposed vulva is more attractive. If not totally exposed at least closely trimmed and tidy with a Pudendal cleft clearly shown because it is so feminine.. After all this is art nude of women. I am not so high on deliberate vaginal or GYN shots. No need to see what the lovely model had for lunch. The underarm thing is more generational or something to do with the society one grew up in I think and don't have a real opinion on that. My thoughts only relate to art nude photography, not life at large.....
Other than that..wonderful images, beautiful model..great work both of you...

All that hair doesn't do anything for me , as a photographer, If I'm paying I want it shaved, if she's paying for pix, then any way she wants it.

Hair aside... she looks a little deformed breast-wise which might well be due to the elevated left arm. It is critical with human photography on any level (portrait, fashion, whatever) to be extra aware of hands, feet, hair (wisps of head hair, I mean), uncomplimentary angles, that can be distracting or ruin an otherwise good image. The human brain often tends to overlook these anomalies whereas the camera doesn't. Also, as she does not have the most shapely legs I would have changed to a slightly different viewpoint - probably slightly side on. That is my observation, not a personal criticism of an individual. With nude/semi photography the purpose is to present the subject in the best possible light. The human form is comprised of many features; some endearing, some less so. The idea is to exaggerate the positives and minimise the negatives. Love the background, by the way.

Paul,
Good eye! Eleanor breast and hip are a little deform due to her car accident. Everything on her left side is recovering from surgery.

Well, the original question was in regards to preferences related to female body hair, so here is my opinion:
- pubic hair: with or without is fine, but a small shrub is more appealing to me than a forest
- armpit hair: I really prefer none; but a little stubble might be OK, sort of like a 5 o'clock shadow on a man can be handsome
- leg/arm hair: definitely NO for me; if I want a female gorilla or a Sasquatch I will look elsewhere
Regarding Eleanor, I am not sure if she has hair on her lower legs or if that is some sort of lighting/shadow effect. Either way it detracts slightly.
From the eyebrows down, I prefer absolutely NO hair at all anywhere on the body. The eyebrows should be natural, but no other facial, arm, armpit, pubic, leg, butt hair of any type. Smooth looks and feels better and is much more feminine than any hair whatsoever. My two cents' worth.

Yeah, protruding nose hairs and a 'stache are not sexy.

I might be able to agree with the "looks" part from many perspectives -- even the lovelies shown in this section -- but I only have the "feel" experience from one woman.

Eleanor is a lovely lady!!
While your back ground is becoming boring The images are great.
As far as shaved V natural for photography I have no preference.
Maybe having Eleanor strike the same pose only reversed would keep the differences from being noticeable.
And as far as perfection in the human body it is just not there, everyone has a flaw.
My two cents worth. So sorry about her injuries, so glad they werent more severe. She is beautiful and all the elements of this shot came together and make for a superb result. When we make comments about the elements of a shot, we are (hopefully) being gracious and expressing how we would individualize to our own tastes or preferences. All the comments so far I agree with, as for me, a woman can be beautiful whether she has any body hair, or even huge amounts anywhere or everywhere. I have seen some models with thick hair over most oftheir bodies who were stunning, especially if the hair is dark, and the skin is pale, the contrast making for a dramatic look. Its a lot of fun reading about the ideas most posters/pesponders here have, I'm so glad there havent been the distasteful remarks we see sometimes on here, this lady gives us such a nice, enjoyable view of herself and my thanks to both her and the poster. More please, job well done and I hope she was pleased with the results. I know one beautiful lady who was in a bad accident and has considerable hip deformity to live with despite several surgeries to correct as much as possible.
If you are keeping score: I like them shaved.
El Natural is my fav. Makes you wonder who was the first woman to ever shave the arm pits, the legs, the rest. Or, even the first man to shave his face. Even heard of some guys around shaving everything. Sigh! el natural for me.
It has to be natural for me, I love hairy, and by the way an excellent pose and an excellent model
I'm quite all right with natural.
