Pat, which locomotive do want to see the controls for. The Southern 6900 E8 had a desk top control for the brakes. The FP7 6133 has its brake and control stand

You are correct about the New Haven engine. That is why they brought it into the roundhouse to reinstall the pick up shoe though we don't have a third rail on the property but to make it look the way it normally ran

I used to ride from Albany to NYC a lot in the old days, sometimes going down just to pick up camera equipment. I remember stopping at Croton Harmon to switch the diesels over to an electric unit before the tunnels. It used to add about a half hour to the trip. I think that system went by the wayside when the ill fated Turbo trains came online.

Any of them.
I've never in the cab of these locomotives.
