Is that a bad thing? A few wadded panties, some supplies from the powder room, a cannon ball, a ramrod, and a flint could make a quite spectacular image!

Because it's not just about the money, it's about doing the right thing! Simple!

I don't understand why a corporation, actor, singer etc. would risk alienating half of their potential audience. Stay out of politics. If you want to get rid of guns then work to change the Constitution. Otherwise STFU.

Maybe the NRA should stay out of politics as well.

I have been a NRA member for over forty years. Forty of those years I have been a voting member, for the board of directors, which determines the direction of the organization. IF the NRA had drifted off course over that amount of time, the "majority" sited in each of these articles, would have ceased to be members of the NRA, which has clearly not happened.

I keep seeing liberals and their entwined liberal media stating exactly what you had said, that the majority of the NRA membership felt they could accept more limitations on their RIGHT to own firearms. Does is make sense that NRA membership would continue to grow, and people would cheerfully send their yearly dues in to the NRA if the members thought the NRA was moving in the wrong direction, or was being unreasonable.. I think not.

There is no pleasing the libs, as 'reasonable' to them effectively means send all of the firearms to the shredder.

I'm pretty sure if you did a poll with all of your Canon buddies as to what new features should be included in the next Nikon, it would turn out to be very similar to the articles you linked to. A majority of photographers believe Nikon should build a larger, heavier camera with a slower processor, and do away with those extra megapixels that aren't needed. Yeah, Six megapixel would be about right.

Again, Clearly, you don’t know what you are talking about. There is nothing ambiguous in the wording of the Second Amendment, or the commitment of the NRA in helping to secure that right.

I'm done with this conversation, as the definition of insanity is being tested here, as trying to talk nicely to a lib and expect a different outcome never works.

We shouldnt have to deal with any political opinions on this website. I was under the impression that it was all about photography. Most would probably agree that it is what they would like it to be. Political views left or right only serve to divide people and force them to take sides. I have always felt a sense of community, one with opinions but opinions in the best way to help others while sharing knowledge.

More on my post from yesterday regarding "get woke go broke." Here's a link to an article about how ESPN is hurting as a result of deciding to mix politics with sports: https://www.wsj.com/articles/how-a-weakened-espn-became-consumed-by-politics-1527176425

The NRA is a lobbying organization. Politics is the only reason it exists. It's called freedom of speech. That's covered in the 1st Amendment. The right to bear arms is in the 2nd in case you forgot.

Hmmmm.
Are you sure that, "Politics is the only reason it exists"? I just looked at the NRA's web site and it mentions many reasons for it's establishment and it's current mission. Politics is not mentioned.

As for the 1st Amendment, it applies to every person and entity in the country, not just those YOU agree with.

I am wondering what effect if any Nikon dropping out of the recent NRA annual convention has on this community. I am wondering how many of you guys are gun buffs and are angry or happy at Nikon's actions. Forty years ago I was a large gun dealer in NY and the very first dealer to sell Nikon rifle scopes. Me thinks, most gun people will no longer buy their very good scopes, but what about camera gear?

If you want to shoot something use a camera. If you want to kill someone use a gun. Kudos to Nikon for it's courage to define the difference and not capitulate to the NRA Bullies.
