Aye, with all the features (too many) how else will you navigate that new digital camera?

Okay, just out of curiosity let's see if most people use full manual.

If you use full manual at any time, yes, that means even on occasion, please say Aye!

If you never use full manual please say Nay!

I guess since I'm the lucky (or is that dumb) one to ask this question I guess I get to do the counting.

Ready, set, go!

Semi-Aye. I use auto ISO but manual everywhere else.

It depends, of course, on how the question is asked. It should come as no surprise that very few posters who understood the question answered "Nay."

A more interesting question might have been, "Which is better - full manual or any form of Auto?" That should have separated the responders into those who feel that they are smarter than the camera's exposure automation and those who do not.

But the reality is that either way can produce a satisfactory JPEG straight from the camera and a decent JPEG is a good sign that the raw file will be good enough to work with for an even better result.

It is a stretch to find situations where either approach might fail or be difficult to apply - unless the photographer is relatively inexperienced or incompetent.

For me it is almost a lie to say Aye because I use various automatic modes, adjusting as needed. But on the rare occasion I do play with automatic mostly because it is there.

With my D750 and 850:
70% Aperture Priority + Easy Exposure Comp
20% Manual Mode + Auto ISO
10% Full Manual

99.9% Auto Focus
