I agree, that it is a waste of time for me, but it maybe very beneficial for the op and others.

Doesn’t matter whether the exposer is spot on, underexposed or overexposed slightly, it isn’t going to help anyone with the subject matter or composition.

A perfectly exposed snapshot is still a snapshot.

As far as proving anything, looking at most photos on this site or any other site for that matter, proves that using manual is not going to improve anyone’s photo skills.

Unfortunately, so many old timers think that they are good photographers just because they manually adjust the exposer. If you ask me, like the rest of us, couldn’t take a decent photo if their life depended on it.
