A breathtaking scene and made possible by your computer graphic skills. Your enhancement of the scene far exceeds the downside of shooting mid day. Your rock climbing skills should also be commended! Beautiful image, Larry.

Thank you carlysue. This didn't require much computer skill----just assembling the pano and Lightroom really does that by itself. The rest was just standard editing---with a slight nude toward under exposure. Now the scrambling around on the very wet rocks----that was a bit more interesting.

Thanks for recognizing the rock climbing. My wife was not in favor of that part of the venture.

A stunning download, and, lighthouse or not, makes for a very dramatic and beautiful photo!

The setting for this is just incredible. It would be hard to get a bad shot of this. Even in bad weather this one looks good.

Thanks for looking at this one.

Thanks a lot Swamp-Cork. Thinking about printing this one really large. With the multiple images in the pano this could be very detailed as a 40x60 print.

Sounds like a good idea to me, Larry as I thought the download really came out well!

You could have fooled me Larry. I would have guessed late afternoon. The shot is gorgeous and well worth the effort you put in. One of these days, you'll have to travel up and down our coast to get shots of all of the neat lighthouses.

This is technically NOT a lighthouse as it does not have a beacon, just a flashing red light.
The bass harbor light is on Mount Desert Island adjacent to Acadia National Park.
This was taken near midday---the worst time to shoot--as I was scouting for a more dramatic shot later in the day. This is a 5 shot composite with the camera in the vertical position. It is a good thing I took this opportunity to get an image as it started to rain and continued for the next two days. I have other another image I'll post later. Thanks for looking and please use the download.
This is technically NOT a lighthouse as it does no... (show quote)

that's a beautiful midday shot!
