Larry your shot is great. Beautiful rendition of the Joseph Conrad :-) The Armistad they made the movie with is a Baltimore Schooner. The guide gave you the wrong information. Sorry! see attached photos of the Armistad. Bob
Thanks for all th3e additional information. I like the first shot of the ship passing the lighthouse.
Hope the guide gets things straight before the tourist season gets under way.
Thanks for compliment on the photo.

Gorgeous shots of both the Amistad and Morgam, the cloudy skies add ao much to the photos.
Thanks for commenting Sirius. I really like the first shot I posted. The shot of the Morgan is more or less just a photo of record. Not much I could do with the ship due to the light, and its location at the wharf. But like you, I like the clouds and water on the first photo of the Joseph Conrad ( as I now know it to be). I've got a few more of the seaport and ships I'll get to posting later.
good to hear from you.
Larry, lovely harbor shot with a “big boat”. I really like the smooth effect you got on the water! Well done.

Larry, excellent shot. I agree with you, it does not matter what you call it.
According to the Mystic Seaport site this vessel is actually the Joseph Conrad a full rigged ship, which is on permanent display at Mystic. See her short history with this link, I came to this conclusion by comparing photos of the OP and photos from the Mystic site.

Larry, as usual, your work is outstanding because you make the effort to get all of the elements of a great photo together!

Beautiful shot, Larry. Been a long time since I was in Mystic.

Just to keep safe, I was told to never call a ship a boat. With emphasis. It was so many years ago I was given this admonition that I forget the reasons given.
Also, years ago I watched a parade of tall ships on Lake Erie from Buffalo, USA, to Kingston, Ontario, for Canada day. In the fourteen, there was even a Chinese Junk. Very impressive, all.
Larry, I enjoyed viewing your great shots.
"Watch out for the sheets and stand lee of the spit." Another admonition given, again a long time ago.
