What's your favorite lens?

I'd like to open a discussion about tools of choice. Are there any lenses that you keep going back to because you love the images that you get with it? I could be any kind of lens... a macro, a normal prime, even a walk-around lens. Just say why and maybe post a sample or two.

I was leaning towards macro in the autumn - I use a Tokina 100 f/2.8 for Nikon or a Nikon 60mm Micro, but I really love my broken 50mm f/1.4 that I use for free-lensing. It's not an every day lens, but I always get something interesting out of it so I like to play with it when I am feeling creatively stymied.

My favorite varies with the day. Am I going to see wildlife, I want a longer zoom or my 500 F8 mirror lens. Going into the city? My 10 -18 zoom or a 50.

The metadata of that photo doesn't show any lens information. It looks like an effect a Lensbaby lens might produce.

I should have mentioned that I am shooting a APS-C camera so the 10-18 shoots like a 15-27mm. I never thought a super wide lens like this would be a favorite but I love it for interiors and even street photography. I find its nice to change my perspective by shooting different lenses in the same situations. I might want a 18-105 PZ for example if I am shooting video for its great zoom range and smooth zooming. Its a little big for some casual shooting, though.

14-150 is my walk around. It's weather proofed and I'm ready for just about anything.

One of my favorite lens is my Tamron 45mm f/1.8 SP VC lens. Very few prime lenses have stabilization. I also like that it has practically zero distortion. There's no barrel or pincushion distortion to worry about. I use it a lot for model photo shoots.

My other favorite lens is my Nikon 80-400mm f/4.5-5.6 lens. It's sharp, has great VR, and has very fast autofocus that tracks moving objects very well.

I am enjoying my Rokinon 85mm 1.4 right now, but I am focusing on portraits for the moment.

The lens(es) I choose depends on what and where I am shooting, but the lens that spends the most time on my Df and the one that is my favorite is a 50mm f/1.8.
For wildlife I use a 300mm f/4 with a 1.4x TC on my D7200.

Sigma "C" 17-70 f2.8-4. Stabilized, sharp, quick focusing and it weighs a POUND. For PAS-C bodies. Great general purpose walk around. Makes exquisite portraits in and out of studio.
Tamron SP 90mm 2.8 Macro. From the film dayz. Excellent and especially for FF portraits. Macro is 1:1.

Favorite lens does not equate to most used lens.
My current favorite is the Nikon 105mm 1.4.

50mm f1.8 - I like to walk around looking for closeups.
