Looking for walking photo opportunities in the St. Louis area.

Off duty officers are cheap (reasonable hourly rate). Not sure it is worth (not the cost of the officer) the image... Just my opinion.

Here is some feedback for consideration. Everyone has seen the usual image capture of the St. Louis Arch. Straight on, or perhaps an oblique up shot directly from one of the legs. Well, keeping in mind that Laclede's Landing is a very historic area, with original ornate buildings, to include restored period street lamps, I wanted to capture a mix of the old and the new. So from one of the side streets, whose south view gave the full arch, I captured several, with the building/street lamps in the left and right foreground, and the arch in the background, all in good focus. Then with much fun in Photoshop, I was able to mask/level/curves/etc so when finished, you could view the details of the building as well as the oblique profile of the arch. And yes, this would now qualify as an HDR print. I actually did this several years ago before I explored HDR. That said, the result print is one that I'm very proud of. So, there are many MANY wonderful opportunities in all major cities, including St. Louis.

Lefj, perhaps a partner response to the first stated in this response, I have never uploaded a single image of my own here on UHH. Our home has (probably) too many of mine on walls, to include many canvas wrap prints along with photo-paper framed prints. I've enjoyed friends asking me for copies of my efforts, and several of those prints have become birthday and Christmas gifts. It is my wish to keep my work rather close to home, and I hope that does not offend any of my friends here on UHH.

Lived in St. Louis all my life and work in the EMS field,so I have been in every part of the city. St. Louis has some amazing photo ops for sure, as for abandoned buildings there are hundreds of them! Most are not that interesting.This town is full of great things to photograph that are in safe areas but you have to know the city well to know where and when to go. North city is very dangerous and you would need a cop for an escort for sure. South city is much safer and full of great old homes and churches.

Thanks for the input. I know St. Louis is a dangerous place. This is why I was looking for a guided tour. I would be with a group, have a guide and they
know the safe places to go.

Okay I can't stay quiet too long. I'm with Cityboy, north St. Louis is rather dangerous, and 'rather' may be understating it a bit. But the rest of St. Louis, south city and county are about as safe as most metropolitan areas.
